I'm guessing that both his pass blocking and pass catching skills are superior to Williams. finn Posted January 10, 2021 Share Posted January 10, 2021 Bummer to lose our Steelers killer the week before we play them again. Williams is closer to Moss in style. A battering ram to close out a game. Yeldon can catch the ball and block, and he's a pretty good runner. But he's not a short-yardage guy, and he's not ideal for closing out a game. Singletary has been a different runner as of late IMO. Seemingly more content to settle for the 3 yard gains vs the redirection and possability of losing yardage. Not a big back , but playing like one with more down hill running IMO. Accelerating like he was shot out of a cannon in some instances. I like it... Logic Posted January 10, 2021 Share Posted January 10, 2021 I think, if anything, people tend to overlook the importance of pass blocking, pass catching, and knowledge of the (huge) playbook when it comes to running backs. WIth the way he ran when given an opportunity and the basically complete lack of a running game all season, I'm having trouble seeing the downside to letting Williams get some reps in. Certain plays do stand out sometimes. I understand. Yeldon has good size with a big catching radius and would work real well as a 3rd down specialist IMO. JerseyBills Posted January 10, 2021 Share Posted January 10, 2021 (edited) Bills clearly liked Moss as the lead back, I think McD is afraid of his fumbling issues popping up with Motor and how much that can impact a playoff game. From what I seen in week 17 , Williams is definitely more like Moss but do they trust him in such a huge spot? I think we're going to need a little more from our run game to continue this run. Da webster guy Posted January 10, 2021 Share Posted January 10, 2021 Considering Dane Jackson is inactive and Josh Norman is in, you can see how much McD favors experience, even at the expense of pure talent. Yeldon clearly will be active, the question is will we elevate both backs if TJ seems rusty. Williams sure looked like a beast vs Miami, and that was no preseason game.
