Daboll doesn't get enough credit for his trick plays.

As ESPN's Marcel Louis-Jacques pointed out, Cole Beasley's touchdown pass to Gabriel Davis against the Chargers was the fourth touchdown thrown by a Bills non-quarterback (including playoffs) since Daboll joined the team in 2018. That number leads the NFL. According to radar360, only five teams have more than one such score in that span.

In the red zone we can either throw to a Tight End, run a nasty route with Diggs/Beasley, have Allen just take it himself, pound Moss at you, McKenzie jet sweep and... btw... any of our WR’s are liable to catch it behind the LOS and throw a pass.

great point. We have also really executed on all of them. You see a lot of other teams run some real boneheaded trick plays or botch them up. Ours work!

Dion Dawkins went to Florida summer camp with QBs/WRs during hot and humid days.

He deserves a chance to throw a TD!

BWA.  I'd give Dawkins another chance or two to catch a pass.  Did you see that film clip where he stripped down Isaiah McKensie?  Big man got some moves!

Contrary Opinion Point:

Is it possible we spend too much practice time on fun trick plays at the expense of run blocking and pass protection fundamentals?

I have not and I just spent some time searching for articles / videos on Dawkins.

A friend from NJ saw him play in high school including some practices and he said he saw Dawkins THROW a TD pass.

I told him he played on defense in high school and he said he knows that but he saw him throwing it but does not remember if it was a scrimmage or actual game.

His son went to Rahway.

Oh and there is for some reason a number of sites with search for Dion Dawkins wife ends up at sites corrupted with viruses, flash bombs and other nasty tricks.

No idea why that combination will do this.

Daboll's been a true head scratcher of an OC.

Some plays you watch and say, "what a brilliant call!" and then it's a "WTH are you thinking"!

He's got to stop with the designed runs for Josh in short yard situations. Teams are hip to this already and it showed in the last game. 3rd and 2, 3rd and 3, USE YOUR RB'S BRIAN! Josh has had his best success lately on 1st and 2nd down runs when LB's vacate the middle and he tucks and goes.

To be fair this is by far his best season playcalling as our OC.

Now that would be interesting. I guess he just has to report eligible, then he can swing around and take the handoff from Allen, then throw a TD to Allen or someone else?

well a knock had been a lack of halftime adjustments on offense has that been corrected where Daboll is concerned? Question for the board.

there are 2 schools of thought on trick plays..."get fancy get trucked" or "wow that a genius call" if they work..or "ACK what the actual heck was THAT" if they fail. sometimes those cutesy plays are great but other times they tank. Execution is key and not being predictable enough so that our opponents dont immediately sniff those out and result in losses (which has happened) as well as Touchdowns (the same) Overall I am your typical fan love them when they work hate em when they don't. If the thought that Daboll might do some fancy dancy trick keeps the opponests on their heels then great but if they become cliche then its time to move on from those. IMO

Not claiming to be the most observant viewer or anything like that, but the pass this past Sunday (Beasley to Davis) was the first one of the bunch where I knew something weird was going to happen, immediately.  If I notice it, I can only imagine better coaching staffs are going to start making their defensive players aware of what to look for pre-snap. You can't go to the well too many times.

Ditto. Beasley going in motion from right to left, crossing in front of Allen then immediately circles back deep around him at the snap said ‘this is new!’

Stephon Diggs makes every coach’s play calling their best.
