Instead of seeing how the Bill can make the playoffs

Bills fans are looking for ways to get the #1 seed.

so what happened anyway, last week was reading if a 3 way tie, Bills cvould get #1 seed, now heard them say today Chiefs clinched the #1 and this playoff machine website also shows that with a 3 way tie. chiefs still get the #1.  Can't figure out what changed.

Strength of sched tie breaker. KC clinched it with this win.

OK so it's actually called "Strength of Victory"

So in the playoff machine I assumed they lost next two games to Falcons and Chargers which is the only option left at this point to end up at 13-3.  If they had lost instead today and beat Falcons strength of Victory would have been less and then we could have still got the #1??

According to playoff machine, Bills can actually still get the 1 seed.  It involves a series of unlikely scenarios, but still possible.

1) Chiefs lose out (Falcons, Chargers) to finish 13-3

2) Falcons win out (Chiefs, Bucs)

3) Jets win next week (Browns)

4) Bills win out (Pats, Dolphins) to finish 13-3

5) Steelers lose only one more (Bengals, Colts, Browns) to finish 13-3

6) There may be other games that need to go certain ways, but did not check that in depth

It boils down to strength of victory in a 3 way tiebreak.  Chance of this is basically nil, however it's nice to be able to chat about these nearly impossible chances for the Bills to get the 1 seed, instead of having substantially similar conversations 5, 10, 15 years ago for the Bills to even get into the playoffs.
