Nope. Kellen Winslow aside, TE was a very different position before the late 90’s though. If those stats get a TE to the probowl that says something about how the position has evolved.

It was a different positon but there were still dominant players like Ozzie Newsome, Winslow(as you stated), and even very good  guys like Novacek and Chumura.

I live in Fort Lauderdale and Dolphins fans swear up and down that if Marino had the roster the Bills had, the Phins go to multiple Super Bowls like the Bills did.

Marino never had a Thurman Thomas to hand the ball off to. For awhile they had Bernie Parmalee who they got from UPS I think.

And even though the Bills defense was average during that time, it was still better than the Phins. No Bruce Smith, Cornelius Bennett, Darryl Talley etc. Phins fans also say if their defense was at the caliber it was in the late 90s/early 00s (under JJ and Wanny), they at the very least prevent the Bills from going to four straight.

Sometimes it's just roster talent. Would Marino have won a SB with the Bills? We'll never know.

There were a bunch of reasons the Dolphins couldn't get past Buffalo all those years. For some reason Don Shula forgot what won him his first SB and that was a great run game and defense.

The Dolphins leaned on Dan Marino's arm far too often all those years. Kind of like Denver did with Elway the first three super bowls and they didn't win one until Terrell Davis came along.

Another key factor was that the Bills defense knew all of Marino's tells, audibles, calls, plays he liked. So they knew what was coming most of the time.

1990 divisional playoff game Buffalo beat Miami 44-34 and a Dolphins player was overheard saying "I can't believe we scored 34 points and still lost".   Thurman Thomas had 32 rush attempts for 117 yards and 2 TDs. (not a typo) The Dolphins had a top 10 defense that season. Although Buffalo had the #1 scoring offense and top ten defense too. The Bills didn't always have the greatest stats every season defensively. What they did have consistently was a top pass rush with Smith and Biscuit.

Simply give the Dolphins Thurman Thomas and they win so many more games. IMHO
