Former Mueller deputy prosecuter says Trump should be investigated/prosecuted by next AG.

What is there left to investigate about Trump?  The Dems literally spent his entire presidency investigating him...seems a little like retribution, to me, just because Trump exposed the frame job in the fake Russia collusion allegations...And they are pissed that anyone dare to challenge them...

Looks like we are in for a never ending tit-for-tat Cold War....

Yeah I mean what's left to investigate.

I mean that's definitely not the thing I thought if they investigated he'd get in trouble the most for or anything.

Like I said, just seems like they are out for blood...they won’t stop til they find something- or, at least, concoct a narrative that fits their agenda...

If you read the article, the point of finding him guilty of obstruction - he clearly was if one just looks at his tweets and public threats towards and retaliation against witnesses, would be to prevent future El Presidentes being investigated for crimes from using obstruction as an established lawful precedent.

Trump supporters seem fine with his tampering and threatening witnesses, ignoring congressional subpoenas and instructing others to do so, with his retaliation against witnesses, NOW imagine a democrat like Obama doing the same thing to a GOP-led Congressional investigation.

The knife cuts both ways.

Do you really think the office of the Presidency should be above all laws and beyond investigation when Congress believes laws may have been broken?

Not a good thing for democracy.

The Mueller investigation was about candidate Trump and the election.  Weissman is proposing that the new AG prosecute Trump for a different crime entirely: obstruction of justice into the investigation of the first case.   That's a valid view because nobody, including the POTUS, is above the law.    I'm not sure that choosing not to prosecute this new charge  would be as detrimental to future prosecutions as Weissman believes.

The simple answer is it’s good political business to pursue endless investigations.  Money is made, “journalists” can report for the good of the party, and nitwits can run about complaining about a person complaining about being targeted by his political rivals.

I think what’s typically prevented this sort of thing is the concept of mutually assured destruction as the target has access to all sorts of details about the government and it’s activities many citizens might find unsavory. We’ll see if that continues, but it would be a heck of a spectacle.

I’d bet a high percentage of Biden voters would tell you that the Pelosi Impeachment gambit would have ended with Trump being escorted from office in cuffs.  I’d bet a higher per engage would tell you it occurred over Trump’s role as a special envoy for the KGB.

Most of us walk by the National Enquirer rack at the local food store, but far too many glance back and wonder if Elvis and Jim Morrison really are alive and well in an outpost at the Arctic Circle.

You see what he is doing right now? If you believe he still has evidence of voter fraud than you are just blind.

Trump is destroying the country over false allegations made up so he can try and steal the election like the corrupt piece of ***** he is.

Funny you say this b.c it's the exact same thing you should be saying about Trump's attempt at voter fraud.

You are on the fraudulent side looking like an idiot and Trump will leave you to rot once Jan 20th comes. He does it to everyone he knows, so why wouldn't he do it to a bunch of people that don't try hard enough for him in his eyes, and it's funny you refuse to see that.

I think Biden would block this or pardon him if it went too far.

You think it should be excusable to let presidents obstruct justice?

Yes, I support what he’s doing as you likely already know.

How is he destroying the country?  Please be specific so I can understand what you mean.

Remember those Republicans in Michigan who questioned certifying the vote? The Left threatens people all the time- but people only cry foul when it’s politically beneficial...Continuing to go after Trump is nothing more than sour grapes because he beat the Dem’s golden child, Hillary, and exposed their Deep State corruption...yawn...

Fools like him make this claim and then conveniently ignore (although he just may be stupid enough not to realize) that that's what the Dems did for the last 4 years.  They did far more destruction than Trump or even Russia could ever dream of doing.

I am mildly, but only mildly curious why you try to play folks.

You have claimed in posts to be a moderate democrat, but you use quotes from the Q-Anon bible and it's Trump messiah. Then try to pose as being logical and reasonable to keep stirring the pot.

Your comments are in no way indicative of a moderate take on politics and laughably not democratic.

Unlike Trump supporters I have found most of the folks here that opposed the man to be far less gullible to this kind of nonsense.

We do play along to see if there is a chance that someone is open to reassessing their position, but your compass consistently lurches back to your true North - unyielding Trump worship and conspiracy adherence.

Ya know, I’m growing a little tired of the constant name calling...some say that people who insult other people only do so because they don’t know how to get their point across any other way... I’d like to think you are smarter than that...I have no problem discoursing with you...I just ask that you please refrain from the personal insults...nobody learns anything with that...thanks...
