LewPort71 Posted November 14, 2020 Share Posted November 14, 2020 50 years ago today occurred the devastating plane crash in Huntington WV that claimed the lives of 75 people including the players, coaches and boosters of the Marshall University football team. This event is told by the movie "We Are...Marshall" that was made in 2006. The movie is a pretty good depiction of the events and the return of the football program. On this day there is a ceremony to turn off the memorial fountain that is in the center of the campus. Normally 2 to 3 thousand attend, but not in 2020. The ceremony was streamed online.
