It's so close there that even a few voters deciding to stay home could tip the scale. We know both sides have the votes to win, if they turn out. Love seeing Trump other Republicans, that can only help the Dems.

I don't believe there will be a huge number of Trumpers that boycott the election, but it will only take a handful

Politico reports that #CrookedPerdue and #CrookedKelly are popping up on social media, accusing the two senators of being “liberal DemoRats.” That’s despite the fact that Perdue and Kelly stuck their necks out politically to try to demonstrate how concerned they were with election fraud. Shortly after they learned they were going to runoffs, they sent out a joint statement demanding Georgia’s Republican secretary of state resign over perceived misdeeds in overseeing the election. They provided no evidence, and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R) has ridiculed them for it.

One of the things that I've seen as people seeing a potential remedy to the whole "election fraud" conspiracy depressing the Republican vote is that Trump is going to go out there to support them in the race. But thinking about it if Trump goes out there to have rallies he's going to do the same thing he always does and talk mostly about himself. If he's talking about himself it's bound to be about the unfairness of the election and how it's all rigged. So I'm not sure Trump campaigning for the runoff doesn't just make it worse for them.

I just hope he never stops and keeps getting more and more violent about it... And I hope we keep getting tape of it.

Plus it will fire up Democrats to vote there! The more Trump speaks, the better!

In general the GOP rhetoric is pretty stagnant and unchanged, but it comfortably works for the Southern belt.

Dems should toss out the far left non-sense because it just does not play across much of the South and focus on moderate policies a majority of folks can generally get behind:

Reducing the rampant government spending under the GOP - Fed deficit went from 17 trillion to something like 28 trillion which set a record as it is larger than our entire economy.

Job creation: Rather than random trade deals and wars that lack any balance, create strategic trade deals that help strengthen our partnerships with the right nations, and protect our economic interests at home from those that exploit and flood markets (China).

Reducing healthcare costs

Improve education

Police reform that focuses on healing our nation. No blame game, just common-sense focus on rewarding and promoting those with integrity, embracing diversity and community outreach/partnerships, transparency, and policies that move towards restraint and justice to restore trust; Not the defund non-sense from the AOC crowd, but certainly there are times you have to tear something down to rebuild it right and it would be hard to argue that there are some departments that run like their own fiefdoms where the rot runs deep. I like to believe there is a silent majority of men and women in blue trying to do the right thing.

Avoid morally divisive topics that the GOP has used to divide the nation -  these have more to do about belief systems than concrete government policy so they are good hot-button fear-generating topics, but not really productive in the sense of policies or arguments (abortion, social welfare programs - the socialism boogeyman, and even climate change) these have all been demonized to the point where they cannot be discussed rationally.

Just wow. So taking advantage of the dumb and gullible in their base, they lie and promote election conspiracies that have effectively circled around and basically ran their own party over.

"Y'all told us that elections are rigged, and voting machines (that flipped several democrat seats to GOP seats) are rigged, and the deep state has control of the en-tar thang. Trump and his team of experts told us that the DOJ, FBI, the World Bank, the Illuminati, and dead leaders are controlling the elections why should we bother????".

A very logical question - why should they bother Donald? They should just stay home, or better yet pencil in Trump's name instead of an actual GOP senator who is on the ticket - because that'll show them.

The poetic irony of this is just so awesome.

Pretty much this.    He's a loose cannon, and I have no doubt that he'll raise ever more bizarre fraud and conspiracy claims at least once in his Georgia trip if not at every rally.  It plays well to Trump Cultists but Perdue and Loeffler aren't Trump, and many, if not most, Trump cultists are unreliable voters without their hero at the top of the ticket.   At some point, reliable Republican voters who aren't Trump cultists may very well stay home on January 5, 2021 in disgust at Trump's charges against GA governor Brian Kemp and secretary of state Brad Raffensperger, who are (probably not so much now) strong supporters of Trump despite his attacks on them.    Moreover, Trump's attempt to change the election result in Georgia and his wild charges are likely to induce Georgia Democrats to come out and vote in the run offs.

Do something @BrianKempGA. You allowed your state to be scammed. We must check signatures and count signed envelopes against ballots. Then call off election. It won’t be needed. We will all WIN! https://t.co/UiJrlyBGiK

Will any Republican stand up to Trump saying to call off elections? No, the Republican party’s main principal now revolves are dictatorships.

I feel a little bad for the Republican in GA getting death threats. How he’s feeling right now and how all Republicans should be feeling because they could be next:

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Finally 2 republican governors Maryland and Mass. Have spoken out. They must have had Wheaties for breakfast and found some guts....months too late but better than nothing. A one year old dies and 4500 more and finally a public reaction. No guts for 8 months to talk back to trump. Cost citizens of these states some lives.

Yes!!

Trump allies Sidney Powell and Lin Wood urge Georgians to boycott Senate runoffs

By Amy Gardner and David Weigel

Sidney Powell, a former lawyer for the Trump campaign, led a rally in a northern Atlanta suburb in which she exhorted hundreds of the president’s supporters not to participate in the Senate runoffs in part because she said the state’s voting machines are not trustworthy.

“I would encourage all Georgians to make it known that you will not vote at all unless your vote is secure,” Powell said. “There should not be a runoff. Certainly not on Dominion machines.”

Powell claimed falsely that the machines, manufactured by Dominion Voting Systems, were rigged to weight Biden’s votes more heavily than Trump’s, that a hand recount was a sham, and that state and local election officials have been destroying ballots and other evidence of fraud. She has presented no proof of her claims.

Lin Wood, another Trump ally who helped lead Wednesday’s event, made similar claims, stating, “We’re not going to vote on your damn machines made in China. We’re going to vote on machines made in the USA!”

Wood took aim at just about every state Republican leader in Georgia, including Loeffler, Perdue, Gov. Brian Kemp, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and the state party chair, David Shafer, even though some of them have stood by Trump and echoed his false claims of fraud.

“If they don’t fight for Donald Trump, including Loeffler and Perdue, send them all home!” Wood exclaimed to the crowd. “You are criminals!”
