Please refer to @SDS pinned post

This is NOT a thread for general covid-19 discussion - state of the pandemic across the country, what death rate is currently etc etc etc

It is to discuss:
-NFL Covid Policy (with references, not your speculation about how they test or what you think they should do)

-Player test results

-How NFL covid results affects teams and games

Shoot.  Cowboys were so desperate they were about to offer him a one year contract.

Speaking of which:

Andy Dalton won't be available next week.  He may clear concussion protocol, but now he's tested positive for Covid

I think the Ravens put seven or eight players on their COVID list today after Marlon Humphrey tested positive today.

Yep, seven of 'em plus Humphrey

Guys on the list because they're identified as close contacts:

LB Matthew Judon
LB Patrick Queen
S DeShon Elliott
LB L.J. Fort
LB Malik Harrison
CB Terrell Bonds
LB Tyus Bowser

Matthew Judon, Patrick Queen, DeShon Elliott and L.J. Fort are starters.

I always called him 'Bolt Neck', but more accurately I should have called him 'Dracula'.  There never seemed a lead safe against Denver in Elway's era.  Often bringing the seemingly dead Broncos back to a second half comeback victory.

It's strange how I remember the '90 to '93 Bills teams better than any of them since but that Zimmer forced fumble against Newton brought me back to the Kirby Jackson forced fumble against a backup Kubiak led Denver team in the AFC Championship game.  Under two minutes with them driving down the field needing a field goal to tie it.

Per McDermott, Dawson Knox is "Still in the Covid protocol" but "In the Building"

What I think this means is he's going through the return process guys with symptoms must go through:

https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/nfl-covid-rules-coronavirus-football-2020/rovse8r08zbu1quh7y3joydah

In either case, a player who tests positive must be cleared by his team's head physician before returning.

Additionally, all players who have tested positive and recovered (or who have tested positive for antibodies) will undergo additional cardiac screening.

Below are the NFL's protocols for cardiac screening:

  • Following a mild, symptomatic infection, a player must complete at least a three-day progressive exercise protocol under the supervision of the team medical staff with appropriate clinical monitoring.
  • Following a moderate to severe infection, a player must complete a progressive exercise protocol for a recommended seven days or for a period equal to twice the duration of the hospitalization.

We think Dawson Knox had a mild symptomatic infection, so he would be completing cardiac screening and a" 3-day progressive exercise program with clinical monitoring"

If I were the Phins I would’ve dangled Fitz our to Jerry leading up to the deadline to see what they’d offer.
