Rome was a very, very different society, situation and culture, almost no connection what so ever

Interesting.  The United States is a different society, situation and culture, yet you seem to think that socialist/communist ideologies of other countries will work well here...

Also, there is no modern day slavery as compared to the past, this is true, but the vast majority of people are financially oppressed, which is the current form of modern day slavery.

We are more free now than ever. What do you feel is oppressive about America?

hoax

Only a hoax if you swallow his BS

Covid is a hoax, doctors want more Covid deaths, so my special Dr. Atlas is stupid enough to talk to a Russian news agency the final week of a campaign and he thinks this guy is smarter than Fauci.

Read it again...financially oppressed.  I thought it was self explanatory...

While we may have more freedoms than most, those freedoms have been eroding.  If your party is successful, we can expect that erosion to escalate much more quickly.

Definition of oppression

1a: unjust or cruel exercise of authority or power
the continuing oppression of the … underclasses— H. A. Daniels
b: something that oppresses especially in being an unjust or excessive exercise of power
unfair taxes and other oppressions
2: a sense of being weighed down in body or mind

I thought someone with such an emotionally hypersensitive make-up would be acutely aware of these things?

Suddenly taxes are oppressive? That’s silly

Coming from you, I will take that as a compliment.

I kept reading your points and realized you have no idea what freedom means.

You first must understand oppression, fear, the sense that your next door neighbor gains favor by telling authorities that you can afford a new tv, or expensive wine, or you bought a new car. You dress in old dark clothes so as to not look out of place, that members of your family are used as weapons against you, that you look pleased to get that loaf of bread, that you cheer because you must, color is wrong, that speaking the truth about an issue at work can cause you to be fired, that your oldest daughter is a target of politically powerful man, and you can lose your job, home, food if you fight too hard....all this still exists today.

In a free society you are asked through a secret vote, you are asked to respect your fellow citizens with speed limits etc.

Freedom requires rules and respect. Trump wanted Texas 1855. He supported the type of people The Lone Ranger and Roy Rogers fought against. He disrespected the school marme.  He disrespected Matt Dillon and Doc. He pinched Miss Kitty one too many times. That is not freedom. The rich rancher does not get to take advantage of Miss Kitty.

And one more, Nathan Burdett does not get his brother out of jail when the Duke is on duty in Rio Bravo, even if the attorney general is a crook too.
