If Allen can keep up a 70% comp percentage and the D can improve (i'm wondering if it's just because we have a heavy rotation on the Line and they aren't used to each other yet) we will win at least 1 playoff game.

Would 4500+ yds be the Bills all-time leader?

There is no way in the world Allen will sustain a 70% completion percentage all season long.

He's already slipped to 15th in the league at 67.1%.

That number will continue to lower as he regresses to the mean.

This means absolutely nothing, but still fun to look at for me.  Through 7 games, the following players are on pace for:

Allen - 4613 Passing Yards, 466 Rushing Yards (5079 Total Yards) and 43 Total Touchdowns

Motor - 683 Rushing Yards, 2 Touchdowns

Diggs - 1378 Receiving Yards, 7 Touchdowns

Beasley - 1074 Receiving Yards, 5 Touchdowns

Poyer - 96 Tackles (not a number you want for a safety, but he's in the box and covering shallow a lot)

(you forgot the INT stat)

I really do think Beasley will get to 1,000 if he stays healthy all season.  Josh is beginning to understand how important he is to controlling possession.

This is a must.  1 or was it 2 weeks ago Beasley didn't get the ball until the 2nd half?

Was that on Daboll or Josh, or what the defense dictated?

When I think of hollow 300 yard games I'm thinking of games where teams get down big time and the QB throws for 300 yards in a losing effort against prevent defenses.  DeShawn Watson had just such a game today.  Now that was a hollow 300 yard game.

But Allen's 300 yard game led to 9 straight drives deep into NYJ territory.  The Bills did not have to punt and had 8 FG attempts. Sure they didn't get a TD but had one called back on a ticky tacky call and the other didn't materialize when Kroft fell down.  But today was far from a hollow 300 yard game.  In fact without a viable running game Allen's 300 yard game was the substitute.

This! Excellent analysis Cincy.

when the D is in zone, of course.    Beasley is more important if teams go cover 2 zone a lot, which they are now doing.  If they play man, the diggs / davis crossers and josh running become more important... all depends on what the D is doing.

My don't the Allen detractors drag the goal posts around.  It wasn't to long ago that your lot were saying Allen would never be able to sustain a 60% completion percentage!  Now he sucks because he might not be able to maintain a 70% average.

I don't know all the posters on this board well enough to know if you are an Allen hater/doubter/pessimist/ whatever, but if you're going to start being a Debbie-downer at least get your numbers right. He's 11th in % with #10 ahead of him being Dak who we all know is done for the year.

image.thumb.png.89dfe056382eeedf80ab7919d7135467.png

Also - you say 67% as though that's some terrible number... Only 5 QBs had 70% or higher - and Fitmagic is one of them... oh and HE is not longer starting (completely different circumstance and I still think he's underrated - a discussion for another time/thread)

You say he will regress to the mean.... are you referring to his career values? Because if you are, you clearly aren't watching the games. Yes he had two bad games.... everyone does. No one cares unless you don't bounce back. It's still painfully obvious that the O and Allen are well ahead of last year and there is no reason to believe that Allen will not and could not finish the season with at least 65% completion percentage.

Pass Def numbers for our remaining schedule is: 11th/ 32nd/ 19th/23rd/3rd/6th/13th/11th/16th

For reference - KC is 5th and the Rams are 4th
