Do we make a trade or wing it?

There anyone on that defense worth calling them back about?

Atlanta?

Danielle Hunter is a stud. Unfortunately, he's injured right now and I also don't think he's tradable.

Deion Lewis In Atlanta is Probably the best cover LB in football and would be an upgrade over Milano. Doubt they trade him.

I just don’t see the Bills trading for anyone, the biggest wow, would be a FA signing for someone still out there.

I was curious if teams would actually be making trades given the virus stuff and looming salary cap questions. Not sure if they’ll be as active this year. That said the Bears are 4-1 so we can put the Mack trade talk to bed until the offseason probably. I can’t really think of a team deep at linebacker or even cornerback which would obviously be our two biggest needs.

The Cardinals would be willing to trade Haason Reddick. The Bills were very enamored with him before we ultimately traded down and took Tre White.

He’s struggled but I trust McDermott to get something out of him. Would probably cost a 4 or a 5.

Wondering how you know this???

They have been shopping him but he seems to be on the field a bit more this year, so whether they still would be not sure.

I wonder what it would take for the Falcons to part with Deion Jones? I think if you did it then it makes signing Milano longer term unlikely..... but he is an outstanding player and would be a scheme fit.

It is Deion Jones not Lewis.

It is possible a team looking to do a rebuild and when discarding a high priced QB may also get rid of other players to make room to absorb the hit so Lewis is possible but it will be very hard for Atlanta to do that with Dead Cap and hard for Bills to absorb salary especially next year.

Deion is our kinda linebacker as far as athleticism.

Jeesh, where do I get that, my bad, another reason not to post before coffee.

Those base salaries look less than what was being discussed for the low end for Milano. What else besides the base would the Bills be on the hook for?

We're fine

As much as I wish we were, I don't think we are....we are not only incredibly thin at LB, but the talent drop-off from Milano is significant, IMO.  I think we need some Beane wizardry desperately...

Jones would be a wonderful addition IMO, but his cap hit is LETHAL....Holy crap I just don't see it happening, that's a handcuffing type of cap hit, and I just don't know if he's worth that much...

I'm holding out hope Milano's injury doesn't keep him out of the lineup for more than a couple weeks, but even still we need to sign at least one quality LB.

Since he continues to not be able to stay healthy, is he worth trying to re-sign?

Certainly but he needs to factor his ability to stay on field and be effective.

If the issue was the Bills facility / medical & training staff then he should look elsewhere but the Bills have a first class one.

Issue may just be he tries too hard and Coach McD might need to ration him.

I think this is why he wasn’t resigned before the season. Beane wanted to see how he did in his 4th season. The early results aren’t good for Matt.
Hopefully Edmunds looks like who we thought he could be by end of the season. Pair him with a rookie drafted early next year. Usually I am against drafting LB’s early but if it is that important to McDermotts overall D, then Beane will do it.

With Milano, arguably our best LB who is currently down, do we make a trade at the deadline? If so, then who should we target?  CB and TE would be the other need on this team.

As far as a pass rusher, I would love to get Mack back to Buffalo.

They definitely don’t need to trade for a TE. They use the ones we have as FBs/H-backs most of the time.

I would like more quality depth at corner and LB,  but that largely depends on the status of the Tre and Milano injuries

Falcons Tak McKinley is someone I'd look at.  Atlanta declined his 5th year option and he's been battling a nagging groin injury.  They'd probably give him up for next to nothing.  Bring him in, let him heal up and learn the system for a couple of weeks, and then use the rest of the season as an extended audition. Could be a nice situational pass rusher down the stretch.
