Bills Receivers Selfless: Smoke asks to keep feeding Diggs

Good article from BB.com. A few good nuggets. Brown told Daboll to keep feeding Diggs. Then at half time, Diggs asks Daboll to get Smoke and Beasley more involved. Also thought it was good insight from McD that the offense was winning the day against our Defense this week, then talking about how that group is communicating so well/often.

So, with so much attention on Diggs, fellow receiver John Brown hopped on the headset.

"Smoke gets on the headset with me," Daboll recalled. "He said, 'Keep feeding 14.'"

"Then we get into halftime and Diggs is like, 'Hey, we can get Smoke over here, we can get [wide receiver Cole Beasley] over here.' They're working together and they're working for one another and when you have a group of guys – particularly in that room – that are unselfish like that, you like to see that as a coach."

"Last week I remember vividly, the defense was taking the field to get their work in and the offense was going off and Josh was having a conversation with one of the receivers just to follow up," McDermott said.

Thanks for posting that. I saw it before and forgot to bring it up here. That's a great sign, especially from those two guys. Granted, it's not only the honeymoon period but everything is clicking so it's no huge surprise. But the culture thing is definitely a thing.

With all the talk about, "well it was just the Jets/Dolphins", stuff like that has me hopeful that the train does not come off the tracks with Josh and the offense/passing game. Hopefully the defense can find their 2019 form against a real NFL team (not the Jets). At some point the passing game will stall, it just happens. The run game needs to be better than it has been. The RB's have been bad to meh in their first two showings.

We are two weeks in, I am hopeful overall. Go Bills!

I don’t get the comments about its only the Jests and Miami. Going into last week there was talk about how solid Miami’s secondary is and the Bills come out and rack up 400+ in the air and now we hear it was only Miami. Yet they play NE tough and and it’s a different story. Bit are NFL teams and a Greg Williams D isn’t anything to laugh at.

I know but it's popping up everywhere and making me hope they light the Rams up even more.

The last great WR combo we had was Moulds and Price. I remember Moulds saying he was happy to be a decoy and let Peerless get the numbers, if that's what it takes to win. Good to see Diggs and Brown doing the same.

Kinda flys in the face of that "Diggs is a selfish bastad" thing that was floating before the season.

He has the right kind of selfishness: the desire to accumulate as many wins as possible.

The niners were laughing at Greg Williams all day.  While playing with backups at TE, QB, RB and WR all or half the game.  This jet d is trash.  Super trash.  Niners rant up 180+ rushing yards on their vaunted run d.

not to take away from how we played against them...just saying, Greg Williams defense is bad this season.

I get that, but NE had under 200 in the air vs Miami and it was because Miami has a great secondary, after the Bills torch em’ all we hear is well it’s just a bad Miami team. You can’t have it both ways.

They didn’t try and pass.  They didn’t have to pass. They owned the fins
