Nah... it won’t.

Im not sure why there’s this hostility from some of you over this issue.  I’m pretty positive about our team otherwise.

That’s not without reason.

Not sure why some of you get so in your feelings over this.

I have to say I’m pretty impressed with the lack of leaks from 1BD. We really have no idea what’s going on with Edmunds except it’s a shoulder issue and that means McVay doesn’t know much more either. I think this is McD trying some Hoodie level disinformation tactics. Keep your opponents guessing.

If Edmunds shoulder was really damaged he’d be on IR. That makes me think it’s more of a pain issue hence the non contact jersey. Hopefully just an AC joint sprain but that’s a 100% guess on my part. I don’t think McD would have him on the practice field if there wasn’t a good chance he’s going to play. Why waste the reps if he knows he’s out? I’m thinking Edmunds is in, especially if the risk of further damage is low which I think it probably is otherwise he’d be on IR.

This is a good point...

I'm not trying to be a debbie downer, but I have yet to see him unload on anybody yet in his young 3 year career. So far he has been a pass coverage specialist playing MLB. It´s year 3, time to show some real growth.

I agree, he is definitely not your traditional MLB...he is not a “thumper”...more of a coverage and pursuit backer, imo...

I am predicting a shootout but in the end I think have at least one of the starting LB's back is enough to get the defense to make a key stop or two and hand this team the game. 35-31 Bills. Key game as the Bills for the two must wins to start strong but a win against the Rams would be a good confidence boost to Josh and this team.

I love how we are now confident with Josh Allen in a shootout...who would have thought, last season, that this is where we would be? Such an amazing feeling going into any game knowing you have a shot...reminds me of how I used to feel with the 90s Bills...👍

I give props to those who knew he’d fulfill this potential.  I think we all knew he had the potential, but were in the hopeful stage of him ever reaching it.

I know it’s only two games, but he just has “it”.  The leadership, the work ethic, the talent....and now it’s starting to come together.

I keep telling myself to temper expectations, but I don’t see any reason that he can’t elevate himself into the Mahomes/Jackson conversation of young elite QB’s.

I don’t know that the Rams defense is so much better than the ones we’ve faced, but they have “names” and national recognition... if he balls out Sunday, he’s going to be - legitimately - in the MVP discussion.

See that's what some of us saw. "It." We looked past the numbers and saw intangibles.

And more importantly, we saw rational explanation for why he wasn’t a polished product coming out of college.

It’s always amazing how quickly the narrative changes too. When he was drafted it was widely said that he needed a couple of years to be ready. He was made the starter sooner than anyone anticipated, struggled some but also showed that arm talent. After that rookie year people instantly forgot that he still wasn’t ready so when he struggled last year the narrative became he will always struggle because that was the hot take.

It’s now funny to listen to a lot of these guys on tv and radio coming out and saying “I told you he has talent” when for 2 years they have been crushing him. The same 2 years that everyone at the beginning said he needed to get up to speed.

The days of Mike Singletary and Ray Lewis seem to be over.  The game has changed.  Those guys were able to come downhill toward mainly stationary quarterbacks.  The Bills are going to have to deal with guys like Lamar and Kyler for years to come, and Edmunds was brilliant against the Ravens last year.  We essentially shut them down because Edmunds had the range and speed to keep Lamar from doing his thing. Those thumpers are fun, but their era may be bygone.

I don't see anything wrong with your perspective.  I already believe the Bills to be a legitimate super bowl caliber team, and honestly I haven't had expectations this high since our glory years.  I don't NEED the national media to validate my opinion of our Bills. BUT, it would be nice to see us get the kudos and the respect that we deserve from the so-called "experts".  If you really stop and read alot of the articles online, and watch alot of the national football shows, the Bills really are starting to garner alot of respect and national attention.  I fully agree with you in that if we do beat the Rams Sunday, we will be even more recognized as a legit SB contender.

Two things about this team, this year to be precise, that encourages me more and more about them are:

In SO many years past, when the Bills would get off to a fast start, or string together a nice little winning streak, the media would start to notice us, and start giving us respect.  And then we would immediately proceed to sh!t the bed and get blown out in our next game, and then go on some crappy losing streak to finish out the season.  "Same old Bills" they would call us.  Not this year.  Buffalo started the season being recognized as not only a legit team, but many picked us to finally win the division.  And you know what?  We have delivered, emphatically.  Game 1 should've been a 40 point blow-out, and game 2 should've never been as close as it was, you show me ANY team that loses BOTH of their starting linebackers AND has to play a division rival that doesn't struggle and I'll come and personally re-shingle your roof for you, free of charge.(labor fees notwithstanding).  I don't care what the Jets or Dolphins records are, division games are.NEVER.easy.  period.   And the second thing that has me truly encouraged, and fully believing that we are a legit SB contender is one Josh Allen, and the fact that he is CLUTCH.  He is at his best when the game is on the line, and i effing love him for that...the kid rises to the occasion each and every time, and that is something you just cannot teach. Either you have it or you don't.  And he has it.  In spades.

It's those two reasons for me that make everyone else's opinion outside of OBD(and TBD) obsolete.  I know for a FACT that we have what it takes to make a run for the Lombardi Trophy this year, right now.

But I too wouldn't mind seeing us getting even more respect/recognition. And I think your feelings are valid as well.

There are certain people that are extremely sensitive about any statement that may imply even slightly that the team isn’t perfect...unless it came from them.

Personally, I think it’s fine to believe that the team is a serious Super Bowl contender AND understand that they haven’t beaten a good team yet.

With respect to your first sentence, I think it’s fair to say that there are certain “triggers” it is hard to overlook — I.e., the negative or “skeptical” posters who repeat themselves without providing much (if any) insight.  There are a few “the team is perfect” posters but not many.  I think most want to defend their team but are not unreasonable.

There’s nothing to disagree with about your second sentence.

I think both camps are an extreme minority
