there are the "hall of very good" or "great for a season or two" that get in.

I sort of wish the 10-20% best had a separate wing that was reserved for legends. My personal opinion is all of the major sports Halls alls are watered down with too many "very good/great" players.

I personally only want to put in Manning, C Woodson, and Megatron.

The other guys all have caveats or justifications to consider. I could see arguments for the McNair (small college, MVP, tragic death), Boseli (probably a top 7 tackle of all-time as far as talent), Willis  (supremely dominant but left early),  Faneca (solid guard and did a lot for players union), Lynch (Super Bowl winner, good interview, and successful coach thus far). Seymour (he was a Patriot), and (Holt/Wayne because they out up gaudy numbers in their time and kinda sucks if they don't join Bruce and Harrison).

Give me the only 3 surefire guys!

I agree with your three sure fire guys. But I am gonna make the case again for Jared Allen in that second group of caveats. He was a 4 time first team all pro, a 5 time pro bowler, a two time NFL sack leader and in a 7 year stretch had 101 sacks. He was dominant in that stretch. The caveat against him is he did not play on successful teams. His real dominant period with Minnesota they did make the playoffs 3 times and get to an NFCCG but his best year when he led the NFL with 22 sacks the Vikings went 3-13.

I don't think he is a sure fire HOFer and I don't think he will get in straight away, but I do think he gets in eventually and he deserves to as well in my mind based on the way the HOF operates (ie. notwithstanding those who share your view that the whole thing is watered down).

Also, Biscuit and Talley on the list. Troy Vincent was a Bill for a few years.

Yes Vincent was responsible for red shirting a Bills QB and then goes to work in front office.

Makes sense to me since NFLPA does not protect players from cheap shots from other players.

I just laugh at some of the names on here: Drew Bledsoe, Jeff Garcia, Dave Krieg, Ronde Barber, Seth Joyner, Ricky Watters, Tiki Barber, Roddy White, Wes Welker, Jared Allen, Warrick Dunn?

These are potential Hall of Famers?

My cut down list.....

First Time Eligible:

QB: Peyton Manning

WR: Calvin Johnson

DB: Charles Woodson

Additional Nominees.....

QB: Steve McNair

Someone leave out other QBs for some reason including QB who played for Bills.

Quarterback Drew Bledsoe, Randall Cunningham, Jake Delhomme, Jeff Garcia, Dave Krieg, Donovan McNabb, Steve McNair

He deliberately tanked to play for Steelers even though he was selected by Buffalo.

It was clear there were conversations when he was a Bill that if he was available a job was waiting for him in Pittsburgh.

He should be banned like Pete Rose is from Baseball HoF.

Dan Fouts had about the same numbers with an extra season--except far more INTs--and only 6 of 15 seasons with a winning record.  Yet he got in on first vote.

So basically Fitz is a shoe in when the time comes?

It amazes me that Tasker is overlooked because he re-defined the position of Special Team's Specialist.

He was also a pretty good receiver.

I would love to see London get in as well.

I always hated losing him.

Agree on both points.  Fletcher wasn't flashy but a tackling machine.  Second all time.

Its silly.  Manning is a no brained, and not up for discussion.  Anderson May keep Tasker out as Anderson was special, but would love Tasker there.  The only other I expect is Megatron.  Everyone knows he was the Absolute best on a bad team for his career.  Can you imagine him now with an Allen led team with that deep arm.  I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a WR like that, and like many if you I’ve played and watched a lot of elite players.  He was a freak.  Like Sanders, a guy who left too early.  If he played on a McDermott led team, I believe he would have maybe taken a half year off and came back.  He didn’t believe in his team and why would he.
