People need to remember that there are going to be a lot more players put on and taken off IR this year. Normal injuries that take two to three weeks to heal will get you sent to IR.

Honestly, I hope it stays this way in future seasons (including the practice squad rules). It's better for everyone. It will give more opportunities to practice squad players, prevent players from rushing back from injury too early, and give teams more flexibility.

This.  The whole IR, done for the year thing always seemed so petty.  It forced FO’s to make decisions that weren’t always best for the team and the player.

Going forward, if they go on the injured list, players should be able to return in 2-3 weeks imo. With the larger PS, it allows teams to keep consistency within the org as opposed to making huge decisions by prematurely ending players seasons

Different.  They can bring him back after 3 weeks

This makes me feel better.

JN has the potential to be a good player for us and Hammys are tricky.

The early schedule isn’t bad so this seems like a “better Safe than sorry” decision.

I don't even know why there is even a 3 week time limit. Let the guy sit on IR for as long or short as he needs to get healthy and then sign him back. Now, maybe it should require at least two weeks, but I don't see the damage in having guys go on and off as needed. It protects the players because it gives the team options while allowing players to heal, and the player won't get rushed back as often.

Go sign what’s his name right now. But seriously, why wait til the very last moment to do this?

Competitive advantage. They've known they were going to do this probably all week.

I just don’t care about Norman.  I never saw it working not did I see him as a long term solution.  We were just fine without him

He is a very low risk, potentially high reward signing thought.

If the guy is only hurt for a week or 2, they don’t have to place him on IR.  We have inactive roster spots and plenty of PS squads.

if there were no timetable, teams could just put a guy on IR on a designated rest day, sign a player that was on your weekly opponent roster recently, try and suck them for info and then cut them a day later.  I’m sure there are other loopholes teams could look for to take advantage.

I feel there has to be at least a 2 week designation but three seems reasonable

Wallace is good.

Norman might still pan out.  Just has to get healthy.

Wallace is good at times.  At times he’s not so much good.  I’d consider him an average CB and I hope we upgrade that position next year.

really would’ve loved to add Pierre Desir. 3 years 22 mill (12 gtd).  7 mill and change a year for 2 years.  3 years if they wanted to keep him. Norman will make 6-8 mill for a year.

First......you are not about to get hit with a flyhing pig I promise.....

- Let Norman heal from whatever the issue is.....wouldnt you rather have that then putting him on the field hand him giving up a game winner because he isnt 100 percent?  Bring him back when he is ready

= Cam  was tearing it up at camp from what I heard....this actually might be a good thing.

Def won't need JN for at LEAST the first 3 weeks.  But then he is going to have to come in at a very high level as the Bills "pre-season" will be over and the rest of the NFL will have a few games under their collective belts.  Levi will be just fine imho....

Belichick believes you can never have enough good CB. Also, McD is a big believer in the CB position. Huh.. imagine that.

Josh at age 32 is freaking ancient (I didn't know he was such a fossil until I Googled). I've pulled a hammy with amateur running. It's gonna take some magic to recall him from IR.

How is it with Zimmer? Lewis replaces Norman on 53, but what about Zimmer? Or you can have more on roster on gameday?

You can have up to 2 additional from the PS on Gameday and send them back down after. They don’t need signed to roster. So they actually have an open roster spot and those two are just extra for tomorrow

They probably weren’t sure if he needed a whole 3 weeks on the shelf - but this gives them an open roster spot.

Then when it became clear he wouldn't play this game they figured they might as well use this week as the first of 3 rather than push their luck.
