Here's the problem though, it's rare that good police will turn in bad police.

It’s because they believe it is a brotherhood and not a job. Anytime a cop dies you see the comments on social media from other cops all the time, “we lost a brother today”. It doesn’t matter if they know them or not. They believe because the put on a uniform they are all united. It’s ***** stupid in my opinion. At the same time bad communities across the States protect the people in their community despite what crimes some of them committed. Innocent children get caught in the cross fire of gang bull#### in broad daylight and no one ever sees a thing.

Lol hope so!  We need actual Bills games in the worst way possible....so we can all get back to arguing about the team instead of "other" stuff.

I feel sorry for the refs this Sunday

Again, a mixed market, we are not all the way socialist. The thing that keeps those programs actually doable is the free market and John Smiths’s invisible hand. That invisible hand which lifts all boats (all people out of poverty) would be replaced with government in a socialist/communist government. Thankfully we are not a socialist government completely.

That’s what Marxist’s seek to do, make it completely socialist and having them at the helm, to be at the seat of power.

Does that make sense? You’re comments seem disingenuous.

I'll never understand why this stuff makes people angry. If you get upset over this you're part of the problem. I've never been someone that felt racism was a problem in today's America because I never experienced it. Then I see how people react to those who stand up against it and now I understand.

Some people don't care about social injustice. Pretty sad.

That’s because snitches end up with stitches in ditches or something like that

That's the players, not BLM. That organization has identified itself as a Marxist ideology and they personally have done nothing but cause trouble. I'm all for help, not hurt. Have the "PLAYERS" support a better organization, with better intent.

Their founders are no doubt Marxist and I hate the name.  However, downright rejecting the broader movement based off that may be a case of not being able to see the forest through the trees.

Yes.  All of those could reduce cost.  But also:

Less gear - more police deaths and injuries ( meaning maybe less effective in tough situations)

Less scope - more of a cost transfer than a reduction

weed and prostitution - the police do not make laws.  We the people do.  Vote for candidates that support what is important to you.

so this is a conversation under the umbrella of “defund the police” so....

1) we agree, it’s less police funding. If the gear was scaled back, not eliminated, you could have the tools to police safely still. I think there’s a debate around whether more police would be killed or if police would have to use more conservative and less confrontational methods that may actually keep police safer in some situations too. We’ve seen the guys that make cowboy decisions just cause they can, not cause it’s best.

2) we are discussing defund the police, not defund the government or social systems. So, we agree. Shifting burdens out of the police department can be a great way to change structure and types of interactions.

3) no one implied they made the laws. Voting is a great way to change structures and require less policing. Obviously.

really, your “but....” probably could’ve been skipped entirely

Do we only care about black players when they are running for or catching touchdowns?

We should also care about their interests and what they are passionate about

No.  I could care less if Dawkins catches touchdowns.

The game was brutal long before Jackie Robinson stepped up at bat, or Jesse Owens lined up at the starting line. Richard Sherman stares down Ty Cobb like he did Rex Ryan. To the people who know history, how do you think that's going to turn out? Do you really think race has anything to do with it whatsoever?

Show an ounce of potential to play pro-bowl, you're spoiled. You have an agent before a driver's license, all paid by rich mean people, only rich today because of taxpayer bailouts. That's the absolute worse person to be commenting on this. Move next to an abandoned home that's broke into every night, then we can talk.

I'm not telling you what to do, just so you know. When you chant "No justice, no peace", people more evil than you can ever imagine hear it, and it provokes them.

I’m just curious as to what problem anyone has with the comments “stop hate” or “it takes all of us.”

If those messages make you angry, disgusted, or want to turn off your TV you’ve got a lot of soul searching to do, to understand why you feel the way you do.
