Yup. Both sides do well here.

Haven't yet seen the numbers on the signing bonus, but with that guarantee, Tre is going to feel that his family is in a very very safe place as of now. Waiting for two more years was an injury risk. This is a smart move for Tre, and equally smart for the team.

You only do this deal with a guy you're really confident is a great citizen. Tre has showed every sign of being that kind of guy, responsible, a worker, a leader. Not to mention talented and a tremendous fit in the McDermott system.

Tre is a phenomenal citizen and outside of QB, the best possible face of this team.  The national media are starting to realize he’s a gem.  Seems like he and Josh genuinely like each other as well, so if Josh takes that next step we’re looking at a pretty great representation of our Bills for years to come.

I can’t get over how good of a deal this is for both sides. Tre gets 55 mill gtd which is highest among CBs and gives him the “generational wealth” he wanted while still being able to cash in on another long term deal when this up at age 30-31, while Bills somehow get out of this at less than 18 mill AAV. Bravo to Bills FO.

Good to hear. Now all he has to do is avoid the "big" injury this season.

Just means he won't be the highest paid CB for long, but he probably knows that and is fine with it.

He likely wanted to get it done before the season so he could just focus on playing, and values security over saying he makes a dollar more than someone else. He is wise.

Saw one article that quoted the same numbers and also commented that it's an extension which means it's in effect after the 5th year option and seemed to imply that was a good thing.  But with a reduced cap next year, wouldn't that be a bad thing as the 5th year option price is fairly high?

I think this deal is also good PR for the Bill's organization as well.  Players  see that they can come to Buffalo, play well, and get rewarded.  Well done, Beane.

Don't you mean well done, Pegula's?

31 yo DT just signed for more $ than the 25yo best CB in the league.

Beans getting away with highway robbery on the tre deal. If tre were to hit the market and sign a 6 year deal I would expect him to get $20M+ more than what he'll get from the bills.
