Some great nostalgia there for sure, but I already swore I'd never buy anything made by Jeep ever again. Never had a single problem with it, and it could go anywhere. The last year Jeep made SUVs like that. They discontinued the Cherokee in 2002 and replaced it with garbage like the Liberty. teef Posted August 25, 2020 Share Posted August 25, 2020 i had a couple of grand cherokees i loved. i'd get them new and bail on them at 6 years or so before the big problems happened. for the money, you tended to get a lot. my old jeep may have even had an option or two more than my current car does, and i spent a lot more on my current car. they've been talking about this new model for years now. at one point it was supposed to be competition for the range rover, and was thought to possibly go into the 6 figure range. i'm not buying a jeep if i'm spending that kind of money. It had been replaced less than a year earlier. I did like the car until that point. Fought with them for a couple months at both the local and corporate level and got nowhere. Had some fun when the dealership we bought it from cold called a few months later to see if we’d be interested in coming in for refreshments and to check out the inventory. My wife liked the look of the Renegade when they first came out, but it didn’t take a ton of sniffing around to discover that they are trash. Hard pass.
