WhoTom
The SEC might be saying that now, knowing they can change their minds once they see how the NFL season works out for the first few weeks, assuming it starts on time.

YoloinOhio
Same thing the other power 5 conferences did. Big 12 might be the only one still trying to play the full Schedule Edited July 30, 2020 by YoloinOhio
IgotBILLStopay
Feel bad for the AAC - in many ways it is more Power 5 than ACC minus Clemson. And given they get lower TV revenue, these match ups with P-5 were critical to their SOS and financial viability. More importantly, their COVID protocols are no worse than the P-5. Maybe they can have some revenue by being the one in the ACC's 10+1 or the Big 12 can fill the holes in its schedule by scheduling a game or two with the AAC. Aren't these schools going virtual? many even if leaning virtual are trying to get portions on campus. freshman in the fall to get their bearings and graduating seniors in the spring, as an example. Along with special cases, athletes, etc... depending on the school, state etc...

I can only imagine someone getting heart damage and the school saying the scholarship is needed for football. They may replace the scholarship, as it would an publicly inflammatory thing for them not to.

My kid ( Div. 1 Track scholarship) goes to UNC Asheville Saturday. So far, they are still set to run within their division ( Big South) He is staying off campus and about half his classes are in person. 13 minutes ago, aristocrat said: they won’t Nope, they are honoring scholarships. BullBuchanan
A conference-only schedule might result in the best year of SEC ball ever. Alabama won't be able to get away with playing no one until the championship. Edited July 30, 2020 by BullBuchanan

Will be interesting to see if the ACC drops their extra non conference game now that as Paul Finebaum stated the SEC told the ACC "Blank you"! Locomark
By the end of August, the best SEC teams will be the ones with any actual players left who actually don’t have Covid, due to those bonehead sunbelt states. I think the NFL has the tech and huge financials needed for them to be able to start stop a few times if needed. IMO college football will have many cancelled games and we will end up with an extended playoff there to make up for it. This might be exciting if this ends up as a top 16 tourney because there is a shell of a season.
Coach Tuesday
I just hope they have fans in the stadium, it’s a big reason I watch the SEC broadcasts. Nothing else like it.

Aside from having 3 of the last 7 National Champions in Football and 3 of the last 5 National Champions in Men’s Basketball, I suppose the AAC is more P5 than the ACC.... iinii
This is much better, less soft padding for the power teams to load up on.
