FMIA Guest: Kim Pegula On Lessons Learned Leading Bills During Covid

The Pegulas consistently and steadily sent the Sabres to dead last in the NHL over the last 8 or 9 years.

As long as Kim Pegula is running the show over there, and thinks she knows what she is doing, things are not going to improve.

The names of those who come and go will continue to change, however.

Just applying the same logic we had here for 10+ years. Playoffs aren’t enough, especially in a league like the NHL. How long before the Sabres win a series in the playoffs? Not just make them.

My guess is 3-5. Then we are at a half a generation of futility.

You also don't get credit for assembling a solid roster when your predictably poor choice of HC wastes it...and you stick with him for 9 years.

Garrett had one losing season (a bunch of 8-8's), 3 playoff appearances (2 out of the last 4 years--they would erect statues to him here at TBD for such a record), so he wan't a total bum.  Probably should have gotten rid of him after 2018 playoff failure.

Naw, much earlier.  Affter the 3rd straight 8-8 season would have made sense.  Or the 2016 with that record and the first-game playoff exit (which would have delayed the statue, ahem, erection).

Maybe he should have gotten rid of Romo after the 8-8 seasons.

Yeah, that wasn't going to happen.  Romo was a far better player than Garrett was a coach.  I think that much is obvious.

Is  it?  Romo and Garrett had 1 winning season and 1 playoff game.  Prescott and Garrett had 3 and 2.

A 9-7 non-playoff season versus an 8-8 non-playoff season means little.  You're reaching there.

Again Garrett under-performed as a HC.  He won't get another HC'ing gig again.

A 9-7 playoff season can be completely dismissed right doc?

How many are in there with you, Sybill?

See the bolded parts?
