What’s a calorie?

The mount of heat required to raise 1 gram of water 1 degree C at standard atmospheric pressure, (29.92 inches at sea level at 59 degrees F).

In food, it's the amount of energy producing potential that the food could release being oxidized by the body.

Here’s one for the “flat-earthers.” If the earth is flat, like a coin for example, is there land/water/gravity (etc) on both sides or just one side?  What do you all believe?

How about this for flat-earthers...

You can clearly see the moon with a telescope which is over 230,000 miles away...

But look from Vermont eastwardly and try to see Mt Everest, the tallest thing in the world with a telescope...

It's impossible because the earth curves... But a strong telescope EASILY has the power to reach that distance

A popular idea I've seen them talk about is that the South Pole is actually an ice wall that goes around the edge of the Earth. So they apparently think this is real.

Who built The Wall in Game of Thrones and how long has it been ...

People who Just Don't Get It

A 72-year-old California woman was gored by a bison in Yellowstone National Park when she tried to take a picture, a news release from the park said.

The woman approached the bison to take a picture and got within 10 feet of it multiple times before it gored her on June 25, according to the release.

Depends upon whether you're an optimist or a pessimist.

Ahhh, yes the ice wall.  So do they think the earth is flat like a coin?  Say for example we decided to drill straight through the earth to the other side.  How long would it take us?  Half a day?

There are about 10 million similar sorts of observations that render a flat-earth theory wrong in under 20 seconds.

Doesn't stop lots of folks, particularly in the gold old USA, from believing in it, though.

You gotta love that.

Never, ever underestimate the stupidity of the average American.

Could you just scale that tho?

So what do they think is beyond it??
