Chicago man killed 2 teens after they asked how tall he was, police say

They noted how tall he was while buying candy at a convenience store in the city

By David Aaro | Fox News

A Chicago man is accused of killing two teenagers at a convenience store this month after they asked how tall he was, authorities said on Thursday.

Laroy Battle, 19, reportedly opened fire on Jasean Francis, 17, and Charles Riley, 16, in a back ally around 5 p.m. on June 20 after they and a friend walked home from buying candy at the store -- following a brief encounter with the suspect.

"The victims commented, because, since Battle is quite tall, and they asked him how tall he was and you know, hoped to be that tall someday," Deputy Chief of Detectives Brendan Deenihan told Chicago's WLS-TV. "And unfortunately, obviously we'll never see the full growth of these poor children."

Chicago is most corrupt big city, Illinois third most corrupt state in country, study finds

By Travis Fedschun | Fox News

Chicago may be known as the "Second City," but it remains Number 1 in the ranking of most corrupt big cities in the nation, according to a new report.

The report, titled "Corruption in Chicago and Illinois," released Monday from the University of Illinois at Chicago notes that while there's been a decline in recent years of federal convictions for public corruption, the Windy City still leads other localities.

"Additionally, Illinois remains the third most corrupt state when compared on a per capita basis to other large states and the District of Columbia," the report's authors note.

The group used the most recent figures from the Department of Justice's Public Integrity Section, which found that there were a total of 25 public corruption convictions during 2017 in the Northern District of Illinois, which includes all of Chicago and the northern third of Illinois. That was down from 30 in 2016 and down an average of 33.6 per year over the last 10 years.

At the end of the day, it's the behavior of people on Chicago's south and west sides that has to change.  Not the majority of people but the portion that are just horrible people.  More police, less police, tighter and looser gun laws.  All of these tactics have been tried with very little to show for it in terms of results.  The bad need to be rooted out and removed along with their way of thinking.  It starts with that.   Problem is, almost 85% of the homicides in these areas go unpunished, no arrests are ever made.  The murders know that their chances of being arrested are slim.  Citizens that might have info to help solve crimes are afraid to talk.  The police can't keep up with the workload of cases.  It's almost a green light.  Terrible.

Gianno Caldwell slams anti-police narrative: 'Victims in Chicago are not screaming defund the police'

Caldwell implores black communities to work with law enforcement to stop epidemic of violence

By Matt London | Fox News

Fox News political analyst and Chicago native Gianno Caldwell went off on the nationwide push to defund law enforcement, as the people of Chicago were struck by yet another violent and deadly weekend.

"I am p****ed the hell off with what I am seeing in the city of Chicago," said Caldwell on "The Evening Edit" on Tuesday night.

"The victims in Chicago are not screaming 'defund the police.' They're asking for more police," he told Fox Business host David Asman. "They're asking for responsible police in their communities because at this point they don't know if they are going to make it another week because their grandparent could be shot. Their nephew could be shot.  Their 1-year-old brother or son could be shot."

"Last weekend 65 people shot, 18 fatally, including a 1-year-old, a 10-year-old, and 17-year-old," he continued, ticking off the grim statistics. "Two weeks ago, 104 people shot, 15 killed, including a 3-year-old and four teens. On May 31st, 18 people were killed in a single Sunday."

Routinely on local TV here (Chicago) they will interview families/neighbors of innocent victims.  These citizens most definitely want more help from police to stop the violence.  They have had enough.  They had enough years ago.  It's heartbreaking seeing these news reports week after week.  Trump has offered Federal help (FBI investigative resources) multiple times and to my knowledge he gets nothing from the current city leadership other than the middle finger.  Now they may not like the manner in which he offers help (public tweets shaming city officials) but with such a gigantic struggle on their hands why wouldn't the city embrace the help?  Why not make the call to Washington?  Today!

Have you ever had to try to manage a $14,000,000 estate (that you didn't pay for) on Martha's Vineyard, WHILE trying to fulfill a $65,000,000 laundered money payoff book deal? It's not easy.

Dude's too busy to worry about minor things like mass black-on-black violence in Chicago.

CHICAGO-- Nine people have been killed, four of them minors, and 47 others have been wounded in shootings across Chicago so far on Father's Day weekend.A teenage girl, 2 teen boys and a 3-year-old are among the dead. A 27-year-old man was driving his 3-year-old son in the 600 block of North Central Avenue when a blue Honda pulled up and fired into their car just before 6:30 Saturday night, according to police.Police said the man was only grazed, but the 3-year-old was hit in the back and later died. The father drove the boy to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, police said, but the boy was pronounced dead

Their guns laws just aren't tough enough to stop the shootings and if they make them tougher yet and defund the police to do a neighborhood watch/citizen police force it will all be better !!

That's what the politicians along with some other groups told me so it must be true ? !!
