2020 Election is officially Trump vs Biden

The Big Guy Strikes Out

You can think long and hard about who might have been a better candidate for the Democrats, but as bad as Biden is, and as badly as he got beaten in Thursday’s debate, you’ll come up empty.

Biden was their only chance. Joe Biden’s installation by the Democrat establishment places into stark relief the absolute glut of losers currently parading the Democrat Socialists into electoral perdition.

Now, with the Biden corruption meter falling hard into the danger zone, it must be asked: What did the Democrat strategists who foisted this fading senior citizen into the top slot know and when did they know it?

ROGER KIMBALL: A Momentous Election.

A preview of this new order was recently vouchsafed by the diminutive satrap Robert Reich.

“When this nightmare is over,” he tweeted, “we need a Truth and Reconciliation Commission. It would erase Trump’s lies, comfort those who have been harmed by his hatefulness, and name every official, politician, executive, and media mogul whose greed and cowardice enabled this catastrophe.”

Noted. And the truly frightening thing is that it would be susceptible neither to repeal nor revision but, having cast our political life into a Manichaean struggle between heresy and the regime, would hearken only to competing entreaties from its own medium of exchange, naked power.

The prospect of that malign dispensation is why I believe the 2020 election is the most momentous of my life.

Texas has to have Republicans worried right now.

A week before the election and already hit 80 percent of the total vote in 2016 with early voting!!!

More than a week before Election Day, Texans have already cast as many early votes as they did in 2016 and are nearly 80% of the way toward hitting the total — both early and on Election Day — counted four years ago. The voting bonanza has some Democrats optimistic that decades of low turnout and undisputed Republican dominance may soon be a thing of the past.

Rich Lowry, from William F. Buckley's National Review. I think he nails it better than anything else I've seen lately:

Trump is not going to be buoyed by personal popularity or respect for his integrity.

His job-approval rating has been under 50 for the entirety of his presidency.

He keeps saying the same things about COVID — we’re turning the corner — that help account for his bad polling on the virus.

If in 2016 he focused on issues that had an unappreciated resonance for voters, this time he’s more focused on his own obsessions — Russiagate, sundry cable-news hosts — that matter to him and a narrow band of his most intense supporters.

No one is voting for his barely sketched-out second-term agenda.

If he wins, it will be despite all that. An enormous factor would be that Trump is the only way for his voters to say to the cultural Left, “No, sorry, you’ve gone too far.”

Besides the occasional dissenting academic and brave business owner or ordinary citizen, Trump is, for better or worse, the foremost symbol of resistance to the overwhelming woke cultural tide that has swept along the media, academia, corporate America, Hollywood, professional sports, the big foundations, and almost everything in between.

He’s the vessel for registering opposition to everything from the 1619 Project to social media’s attempted suppression of the Hunter Biden story.

To put it in blunt terms, for many people, he’s the only middle finger available — to brandish against the people who’ve assumed they have the whip hand in American culture.

Deandre Hopkins brandished a pretty awesome middle finger:

👍   👍   👍     Go, DeAndre!!!!

The indignation of the Trumplets in that piece was hilarious, especially the one from the guy whining to the Cardinals on social media that he had his eight-year-old son with him.  Trumplet Daddy is taking his kid to what is essentially a hate rally complaining that the kid was exposed to an obscene gesture ...  priceless!   That ranks up there with the Baby Trumps Ivanka and Jared threatening to sue the Lincoln Project because of their billboards in Times Square.   Like most RW snowflakes these Trumplets can dish it but can't take it.

That's an interesting leap to make.

Quote

“By blocking the ability of transgender individuals to openly serve their country, denying LGBTQ+ people access to critical health care, proposing policies allowing federally funded homeless shelters to turn away transgender people and federally funded adoption agencies to reject same-sex couples, and failing to address the epidemic of violence against transgender people — particularly transgender women of color — the Trump-Pence Administration has led a systematic effort to undo the progress President Obama and I made.”

Quote

“It’s wrong to deny people access to services or housing because of who they are or who they love,” Biden argued.

the monster. 🙄
