That's like 150 miles or so more or less across the entire state. Today is a gorgeous day and so I will try to watch it. I'll report back. I guess it's now moved back to 4:30pm for those interested. Heard the countdown/launch on the car radio and a few seconds saw it coming up over the horizon. Obviously pretty small from that distance, but unmistakable.
Doc
I was once in Orlando at a TGIF's and saw the shuttle taking off. It was very cool.

I saw a night time shuttle launch in Orlando once when I was on vacation — clear as a bell. I didn’t know it was going off so it was freaky to see. It took a couple minutes for me to tell that this fireball was going UP, not down. It was cool to see.

BillsFan4
They’re saying they are on schedule for the launch. It’s showing 38 minutes to launch (it’s currently 2:45pm est). Edit, yep sounds like a go! Edited May 30, 2020 by BillsFan4

I saw it very clearly from Sarasota. It wasn’t like anything else you saw up there. Very cool!
BillsFan4
I went and watched a couple launches in person when I lived in Florida (years ago). They were space shuttle launches. Drove 4 hours to Kennedy to see the launch. It was cancelled. Drove back a week or two later and got to see it. It really is cool to see in person. It’s soo loud. It hits you right in the chest. Feed cut out and then the rocket was on the pad Yeah that was a bummer. I’m hoping they’ll post some videos of the landing on Twitter/YouTube. Its amazing that it landed almost dead center on the landing pad!

I imagine there will be video of it. But landing on a ship?? That's ***** awesome regardless!!
Bob in Mich
The launch as shown on CNN was screwy. They got the audio and video out of sync. They seemed to have a video version that was about 15 seconds behind live. They then switched to ‘live’ video as the countdown got near but they didn’t switch to live audio. The result was seeing the liftoff for about 5 seconds before the final 10 second countdown on the audio. The rocket was pretty high up before the audio caught up announcing liftoff.
