Third best.

KC and Baltimore are not invincible either.

It feels good to finally be in this position. Let’s see how they handle it.

It really is hard to see them doing better than that...

What teams look like now verses who they are when we play them is the question.

This is a ten win team.... again.

Oh I’ll take them getting to 10 the defense is elite and now with a legit number 1 receiver I can count on wins 4-5 in the AFC East winnable games against the Chargers,Broncos, Raiders,  Cardinals, and Rams add to the fact they host Seattle which has to travel cross country and isn’t that good on the road to begin with and who knows maybe they surprise the Chiefs since it’s in Buffalo..double digits easy

The Bills pulled out some very close, tough wins last year, against teams that didn't win a lot of games.  Yes, they won those games, which is a lot better than what they used to do.  But they got killed by Philly and lost to Cleveland when the defense couldn't hold a late lead.

There's a fine line between success and failure.  The Bills still don't look as loaded as Cleveland did last year, and the Browns fell apart.  That seems unimaginable under McBeane but imagine how last year would go if the Jets MLB didn't get hurt before halftime, and the Jets held on to win the first game of the year.  The next week the pitiful Giants were ahead of the Bills.  Last year could have gone a lot differently.  This year is NOT a guaranteed walk to the division.  Keep an eye on Miami, which seems ready to challenge the Bills for the AFCE championship, and the only playoff slot to any team in the division, due to the terrible travel schedule all four teams will have.

I think the concern with Buffalo is they lack elite talent outside of Tre White and perhaps Stefon Diggs.  You'd hope that younger players like Oliver, Edmunds, Allen, Singletary, and others might distinguish themselves because the NFL is about creating matchup disadvantages.

Heading into the season, Buffalo is strong across several position groups, but their lack of top end talent is something to be aware of.  That said, Buffalo isn't going to sneak up on teams the way they might have in 2019 coming off a poor 2018 season.

Hopefully, we'll see higher picks ascend into being top performers.  They almost need to given the challenge of playing the AFCW and NFCW this season.

We've got to be better than the Colts, right??

People are still enamored with the names of the old guard (Cam, Rivers, Ben) and haven't yet internalized the fact that all three are horrible compared to their peaks now.

First point - there is still no guarantee that we will see a 16-game regular season. And who knows what a compromised season would even look like and which teams would be advantaged or disadvantaged.

Second point - We have lost very little in terms of personnel. Zo was our biggest loss, whilst Shaq and Phillips have been swapped out for Addison and Butler + Harry coming back from the ACL. We also made solid gains both in trading and FA. I also believe we might have struck gold in the draft, although time will tell. And our 1st and 2nd year rookies will be one year older and wiser and they - along with the rest of the roster - will no doubt still be burning over the WC loss.

All things being equal, we are more likely than not to improve dramatically - which you would think puts us in pole position to win the division. This automatically means a home WC or divisional round game.

Anything less than this would be dissapointing and could be considered a failure.

So a top 6 ranking is not a stretch by any means.

With teams that surprise and disappoint every year, I don’t understand why people use strength of schedule to n April to determine records.

Everyone here had the Titans in the AFC Championship right?  Everyone had the Cowboys missing the playoffs?  Browns too.

And Im also sure everyone here had the Ravens and the 49ers as the top 2 scoring offenses.

Favorite side notes.....

"The most interesting part of his breakdown on the draft is with regard to quarterback Jake Fromm, whom Schofield believes could have a great deal of success in the timing/West Coast portion of offensive coordinator Brian Daboll’s playbook. While he doesn’t say it outright, he seems to view Fromm as more than a backup if Allen is to fail, going as far as to call it “a storyline worth watching.” While I disagree, stranger things have certainly happened."

“It’s impossible to look at Buffalo’s roster and not see it as the strongest in the AFC East — by a substantial margin.”

“Buffalo should rule the AFC East with the Patriots finally moving on from Brady and also be a bigger factor in the playoffs.”

This has been hashed out already.   Allen was the weakest link.   The offense stunk it up in most of those losses.

The defense finished near the top of the league, the offense near the bottom.

With the additional players we added this off-season and the hope Allen takes a big step, we are more than primed to make a big splash this season.

It all rides on Allen, he will make us or break us.

Yeh but anyone could do what the Dolphins did dump your good players and get picks if you have that many picks and cap space your going to look amazing in the off season those loaded Browns you talk about had how many high picks the last few years? It’s the organization, stability, and structure that the Bills have as an advantage on many teams now

They have to be top 10...I would put them somewhere near 7. They have both a very talented and very deep roster with no real holes. If Allen can take another step forward this year like he did last year this is a top 5 team. If he doesn't then we are probably 10th or 11th.

I think in the 3-5 range in AFC (us, Colts, Titans)

The Titans aren't going anywhere with Tannehill.

And Rivers isn't getting any younger. I still have us at #3 in the AFC. The Texans are probably #4 as long as Watson is running around there. I know Belichick is a witch but the sorcery ends this year with Stidham.
