I am not sure I have ever seen anybody over that much. Maybe the Saints at one point? Alshon's cap # is $18 mil, cut post-June 1 next year: $5 mil dead cap Desean's cap # is $11 mil, cut post-June 1 next year: $2 mil dead cap Goodwin's cap # is $7 mil, $0 guaranteed Brandon Graham, who will be due $18 mil next year, will be 33, and has a $5 mil dead cap # post-June 1/ Jason Kelce who has talked about retirement each of the past 2 offseasons which would save $8 mil. They will make a few cuts and restructure a deal or two and get comfortably under the cap. One of the reasons the Eagles are consistently competitive is their quality coaching, solid drafting and good salary cap management. They might manage the salary cap better than any team in the league. With the receivers they drafted this week I think they can easily afford to lost Godwin, Alshon and Desean and just replace them with a draft pick. All three are banged up a lot. That would save about 30 million on the cap. Brandon Graham saves you another 13 million, which gets you just under the cap. I am sure they can maneuver around a few other contracts and cut a few mid level players to get them enough to service their draft picks and have emergency money and maybe depending on how they pull it off sign a couple of mid-level contracts. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

They are either going to need to cut Fletcher Cox, Jeffrey, and Goodwin or they will have to trade Carson Wentz by June 1st. If Wentz doesnt stay healthy this year he could be on a new team in 2021. He is not one of the top GM's in the league and this cap problem is just more evidence of that. Like every other GM, he has hit on some moves but when you look at the whole picture, he's nothing special. He got them to a SB win and should receive credit for that. Whenever you see big numbers in the "restructure bonus" column, that means they've been basically pushing back the inevitable. About 20 mil restructure bonuses, then in 2021 you have void years too. They basically were playing that game where you move 10mil of base salary into the next 4 years. Eventually that player isn't good and you have like 3 different paid out bonuses that hit your cap at once if you release them early. Not to mention they did this like way too many times and have void years all the way into like 2023 and 2024. Essentially this is right though - re-work the WR corps, lose older players, and trade down in the draft to get more cheap contracts/players. They're stuck in a 2 year cap crunch since they dont have space to eat other dead money. They could move Javon Hargrave since his base salary would come off the books in a trade.
