Did you know Jerry Rice, Andre Reed and Eric Moulds were 6'2"?

You folks need to get grip on this size fantasy.

6'2" is more than FINE.

Yep.

Remember when everyone wanted James Hardy instead of Desean Jackson?

CBS Sports has him as the 117th best prospect.

Seems like we were going BPA throughout the draft.

Beane said he did go bpa on 4 of 7 picks.

was that the same year of Limas Sweed?

yup. That was the year of the “big receiver” and there ended up being a bunch of busts, including Hardy and Sweed.

edit: Devin Thomas, Malcom kelly, James Hardy, and Limas Sweed— everyone was after the “big” receiver that year. There were a ton drafted in the first two rounds. Ironically, out of that supposedly deep WR draft class, only the “smurfs” had productive NFL careers (DeSean Jackson and Eddie Royal).

is gabe davis actually any better than isaiah hodgins?

Feels like Davis’ upside is WR2, productive guy but not The Guy. Hodgins has the higher ceiling but a longer way to go to get there.

Bucs / UCF fan...First post here...only signed up to simply say congratulations on a great draft, and particularly selecting Gabe where you did. You just got Brandon Marshall physically and Jerry Rice mentality wise. No BS. This kid is special.

Its been reported since he stepped foot on campus he was early to every practice on the jugs machine and stayed late every day doing the same. He did this his whole time at UCF. Any time during offseason and bowl prep this kid stayed inside watching film with coaches.

Take it  FWIW, I’m not a homer type fan but this kid’s talent was something special to watch and I was hoping like hell the Bucs would snag him.....and Killins who Philly got.

I watch him a ton as a UCF season ticket holder.

Size Speed. Not great out of breaks (so not much separation). Good hands. Physical and high points well. When UCF needed a play he is who they looked at. Limited route tree though. Out classes most competitors but will need developing to succeed in NFL

Think this is absolutely right. And when his team needed a play he usually made one. He just finds a way to produce. Agree they need to focus on working on his footwork. Both off the line and in and out of breaks. That is stuff that is coachable.
