Pretty cool little video with those that had athleticism concerns. Not sure how good of a DE he is and if he is a fit on this team.

He’s quite good, and he is a fit. He’s average athleticism (as compared to some others, not say he’s not a good athlete) with high motor and work ethic and advanced hand technique. He’s a McD special from a work ethic standpoint. I believe he was big 10 DL of the year in 2018... think about that one

I think he could find a home on more hybrid teams like the Ravens, Pats, Lions. I don’t think he is  a fit here because he doesn’t fit the profile of what they have shown they like in edge players. 31 inch arms are the biggest red flag. That said, if I were Willekes, I would move to fullback. He could be the next Patrick Ricard as a two way player. He could probably gain 20lbs and move inside to tackle. But yeah I would draft him as a fullback/DL two way player. He has a ability on the edge and he was a high school running back, so being a fullback would not be that foreign.

He wouldn’t be a traditional 4-3 EDGE in the NFL. He’s a OLB and he knows it, already played that at the senior bowl

I don’t think he has the twitch or speed to really play there though. He’s a man without a position, so that’s why I was saying he could be valuable as a team as fullback who can also be a rotational base end.

According to Marino of the draft network, his NFL comp is Chris Kelsay.

Kelsay was 20 pounds heavier, a tenth faster, more athletic (36.5" vertical vs. 32.5") and had longer arms (32.5" vs 31.25") than Wilkins.

    Kelsay:   https://nflcombineresults.com/playerpage.php?i=6592

    Willekes:    https://nflcombineresults.com/playerpage.php?i=30312

Lunch pail white guy is about the only comperable...

Really good player, perfect fit, I really hope we get him late in the draft!

Seems like a guy you want on your team.  Probably hard to pull the trigger before the 5th or even 6th round though based on his athletic profile and not being able to play with his hand in the ground all the time like he did at Michigan State.  You wanna compare him to a guy like Kyle Williams but Kyle didn’t have play a new position.

i like him but he needs more explosiveness off the snap, KB swings may be in order.
