POTUS to Goodell: believes NFL season should start on time

Sell.

"I'm not anticipating that happening in this state," Newsom said via SFGate.com. "We've all seen the headlines over the last couple days in Asia where they opening up certain businesses and now they're starting to roll back those openings because they're starting seeing some spread and there's a boomerang. One has to be very cautious here, one has to be careful not to overpromise."

Newsome also shared that one "well-known football player" inquired about whether or not the NFL season would begin on time.

"I would move very cautiously in that expectation," Newsom said. "Our decision on that basis here in the State of California will be determined by the facts, will be determined by the health experts, will be determined by our ability to meet this moment and bend the curve ... Right now I'm just focusing on the immediate, but that's not something I anticipate happening in the next few months."

It would also be a very beautiful thing if we all gather together in church for Easter Mass.   ?

It would be absolutely cruel to Bills fans to mess with this season! But we are TOUGH!!!

(....and kinda used to being messed with.....)

Yea, yea sure. Also wanted to get back to normal by Easter lol.

Probably will but the POTUS has absolutely no idea.

Nothing wrong with trying to stay hopeful...obviously, if things change when the time comes, then society will adjust accordingly...

Moron. Incompetent. Narcissist. Sociopath.

Got any others? Sign of a great leader is to constantly deflect and never admit when he’s wrong. Always someone else’s fault. He’s handled this entire situation so piss poorly. I’m supposed to believe this schmuck? Keep taking advice from Hannity and Limbaugh you loon.

I'd be shocked if the league started on time. The only possibility I can imagine right now would be games without fans (or maybe neutral sites where the disease is under control?--wherever that might be).

That pretty much seals it then - there will be no NFL in August or September.

Just about every time Trump has pontificated about any sort of timeline to do with Covid19, he's been way off.

He does appear to be learning a bit though, as he has couched it as 'hope to' rather than 'for sure', and he isn't being committed.

About the only chance there is, imho, of the NFL starting on time, is if there is either an effective treatment available, or a vaccine - neither of which is currently likely to be available due to the need for testing, and then mass production.

If they wanted to play in empty stadia, that might be possible, or perhaps with very limited crowds, so social distancing can be maintained, then that's about the only other viable alternative I can see.

I, for one, am willing to sacrifice my dear Polish grandma for the sake of the 2020 NFL season. This is Buffalo's year. You had a great run, Grandma Adams, but the Bills are entering a tight two-year window of opportunity before Josh Allen's rookie contract is up.

Don't do  or say that Kay lol. Celebrate together and watch them win even better. :)

On a serious note (sorry for that....), if there is no season, we still have the rest of Josh’s rookie contract, right? If there is an abbreviated season, I still call it the real deal! (As long as we do well, and if not it was just a garbage season that doesn’t count.)
