PSA: know someone or some org with a 3D printer? Print face shields for first responders

PSA: know someone or some org with a 3D printer?  Print face shields for first responders or suggest this as something perhaps they could do, and consider a donation for supplies?

If first responders and HCW are well supplied, these would also be helpful for workers in elder care facilities (aides who bring meals etc), pharmacies, grocery stores to prevent infection and minimize spreading asymptomatic or presymptomatic infections

Many schools and libraries have these now-a-days and are now closed, potentially meaning the person in charge of them may have extra time.  If you know of such, reach out to the principal or director (not the grunt) and suggest they fund this effort and seek community donation of supplies if necessary.

This is really popular in Pittsburgh right now.

I actually think these small groups of hobbyists and small businesses are going to be huge on a number of fronts (masks, face guards, ventilator technology, etc.). Much more nimble than your GM’s of the world. May be really helpful to stock short-term needs.

One of my high school classmates is already doing this for the DOH.

most dental labs use 3D printing for dentures and such

My sister in law just last week had a crown made while she waited in the dentist office. They printed it out right there in about 10 minutes.
