I think your posts pretty much sums up my frustration over the past couple days.   I like to think of myself as a somewhat reasonable person, but These social shaming attempts from people, the media and politicians are beginning to reach a boiling point    And if I’m beginning to feel that way then I’m pretty damn sure there are many others as well.

I’m sensing a profound schism that is developing between the “stay at home” vs. the “let’s get on with life” people.    The longer it continues this way the more anger I think we will see.

The schism is between those still with jobs and those that don't have jobs.

It's a lot easier to be in the stay at home crowd when you can work from home and still collect your regular paycheck.

The ***** doesn't get real for the Patton Oswalts of the world until the out of work barbarians burn his beloved Trader Joe's down in Week 10 of a lockdown.

Everyone's looking to the south and east for the first flare up -- but people should watch LA. 55% of the population is now unemployed (because: Hollywood is more than actors). The divide between the working class and rich are not only hilariously clear to everyone in town, the progressive left has spent the past 10 years pouring gasoline into the trenches of those dividing lines with their activism.

The Oswalts of the industry who've thought it cute to pander to the progressive-fascist left over the past decade, pushing redistribution and crypto-Marxist ideologies while collecting seven figure checks for 6 months worth of work, are in for a BIG surprise. The next LA riot won't start downtown, it'll start on the west side of the city.

Experts say it may be time for grocery stores to ban customers from coming inside because of Covid-19

Dozens of grocery store workers have died from the coronavirus, despite masks, temperature checks and capacity restrictions to keep them safe. So far, supermarkets have resisted the most draconian policy: banning customers from coming inside.

However, some worker experts, union leaders and small grocery owners believe it has become too dangerous to let customers browse aisles, coming into close range with workers. Grocery stores are still flooded with customers, and experts say it's time for large chains to go "dark" to the public and convert to curbside pickup and home delivery for food and other essential goods.

Some companies and safety experts say it's not feasible to convert all grocery stores to delivery and pickup-only outposts. Ordering systems for both pickup and delivery are completely overwhelmed by a crush of demand from customers in many areas of the country.

Online pickup and delivery requires a much larger staff than grocery stores are currently equipped with. That could fill supermarkets to capacity with workers, defeating the purpose of removing the public from stores.

That is a very scary idea

SOON IT WILL BECOME URGENT TO END THE LOCKDOWN:

‘This is the worst it’s ever been’: L.A. Mayor announces city worker furloughs during State of the City address.

When you lose your job, it’s an unfortunate necessity. When unionized Democrat city workers lose their jobs, well . . .

WILL THE SHUTDOWN CAUSE MORE DEATHS THAN IT SAVES?

We are in the midst of a health care disaster in the U.S. and other developed nations. This is not due primarily to the Wuhan virus, but rather to the fact that “non-essential” medical treatment has been canceled. In England, concern is growing that the deferral of “non-essential” health care could ultimately be more damaging than the Wuhan virus. The London Times reports:

It’s chilling to know that many hospital wards, waiting rooms and car parks are now empty. Before this country was hit, only 800 of the NHS’s 4,125 critical care beds were vacant at one time. Now it’s 2,300. Even with some of the worst fatality rates in Europe, some hospitals now report being half empty since they paused almost all non-emergency work.

The same phenomenon is occurring here.

They Can’t Stop Us from Re-Opening America

by Kurt Schlichter

Original Article

We’re going to come out of this nightmare whether the Democratic politicians like it or not.

The pandemic is subsiding, so America is done with this lockdown nonsense, and the inevitable re-opening is coming. It will start out slow, then get faster, then get very, very fast, and then get finished. That’s how these things happen.

But it won’t happen without #resistance. The lib establishment and its media gerbils clearly think it’s in their interest to have the Bat Gobbler flu crisis continue indefinitely. They think it hurts Trump, plus they really love wielding power over you. Just look into the dead doll eyes of Governor Karen (D-Minncounsinigan)

Facebook shuts down anti-quarantine protests at states' request

Facebook is blocking anti-quarantine protesters from using the site to organize in-person gatherings in states that require residents to stay in their homes due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The world’s largest social network has already removed protest messages in California, New Jersey and Nebraska from its site at the urging of state governments who say those events are prohibited by stay-at-home orders, a company spokesperson said.

I think there are important lessons that can be learned from the SWEDEN experiment.

Sweden’s unusual approach to fighting the coronavirus pandemic is starting to yield results, according to the country’s top epidemiologist.

Anders Tegnell, the architect behind Sweden’s relatively relaxed response to Covid-19, told local media the latest figures on infection rates and fatalities indicate the situation is starting to stabilize.

“We’re on a sort of plateau,” Tegnell told Swedish news agency TT.

Quote

As of Sunday, Sweden had reported 1,540 deaths tied to Covid-19, an increase of 29 from Saturday. That’s considerably more than in the rest of Scandinavia, but much less than in Italy, Spain and the U.K., both in absolute and relative terms.

Tegnell isn’t the only high-level official in Sweden to claim the country may be over the worst.

“The trend we have seen in recent days, with a more flat curve -- where we have many new cases, but not a daily increase -- is stabilizing,” Karin Tegmark Wisell, head of the microbiology department at Sweden’s Public Health Authority, said on Friday. “We are seeing the same pattern for patients in intensive care.”

Just two weeks ago, the picture was considerably bleaker, and Prime Minister Stefan Lofven suggested the government may need to review its approach amid the prospect of thousands of Swedish deaths. In particular, the failure to protect people in nursing homes has stood out as a clear weakness, which has contributed to higher death rates than in neighboring countries.

“The protection for people in elderly care should have been better,” Lofven said last week. “We need to look closer at what has gone wrong.”

Yet overall, Lofven’s strategy has won the approval of Swedes, and his personal popularity has soared.
