The AFC is getting easier

Recommended Posts

The two biggest stories right now are Brady to NFC, lost in the stories of the idiocy of Bill O'Brien, is the subtext that the best receiver in the AFC now plays for the Bills (since Hopkins is gone).
DHop was good for 2-3 wins because of how good he is and now...also in the NFC.

Diggs is the most complete guy in the AFC, imo. He WILL make Josh better. If you watch those bombs from Cousins, he just throws it as far as he can and Diggs accelerates to get under it.

There are Good days ahead in many ways for our team.

But Diggs hasn't made the Pro Bowl, so how can he be the best WR in the AFC?

Seriously though, Tyreke Hill, Keenan Allen, TY Hilton (when healthy), Devante Parker who came on strong last year, there are some good WR's in the AFC as well. Let's just all be happy that we traded for a good one who will definitely improve our team.

Diggs is not the best receiver in the AFC.  I know we are all happy we have him but let’s not just make things up.

And it does look easier on the afc.  But last year at this time, people were saying the Ravens have no qb and laughing at the Titans.  Things change fast but it definitely seems pretty open minus the top 2 teams.

The discussion always starts with the QB.

Tom Brady is gone.  Andrew Luck isn't coming back.  Big Ben and Phillip Rivers have clearly regressed, and now have retirement staring them in the face.

As of today, the premier/young QBs in the AFC appear to be Patrick Mahomes and DeShaun Watson (sorry but Lamar Jackson needs another year of elite play to prove his game will work for the long-haul).

There are several young QBs vying to join that conversation (Jackson as mentioned, Josh Allen, Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield and soon to be Joe Burrow).  Even if Allen never reaches the heights of Mahomes or Watson, I think he can at least be in discussion for the #3-4 guy in the AFC very soon.  He's definitely got some work to get there, but being in the Top 5 in your conference would be absolutely HUGE for this franchise.

Don't forget, Watson is being pulled down by a ridiculously bad front office.  The Bills do seem to have a better/smarter organization than AT LEAST New York, Cleveland and Cincinnati.  So if Allen can make that huge step forward, and the Bills should be a major contender for years to come.

Discussed this this morning at work.

KC is number one

Bills are 2.

Baltimore comes back to earth along with LJ.

Houston has Bill OBrian.... nothing else matters.

Pittsburg is beatable with Ben as QB.

We have a tough schedule but it means we are battle tested when we get to the playoffs.

The Window has opened, ladies and gentlemen.
