Ekeler and Chargers agree to long term deal

Curious to see how much more Gordon ends up getting. This contract is roughly the max I'd be comfortable giving to a RB (unless they're an all-around weapon like McCaffrey).

A few years ago he would have got paid twice that after the season he just had. Nice to see the market for RBs starting to adjust a bit.

There is no RB in the league worth more than $6mm a year. They are usually only elite for a few years max and are so easily replaceable.

Dude helped to win my fantasy football championship. Modern day Darren Sprolls

Ditto and so did Fitzpatrick.  I benched Cousins and Josh Allen in week 16 do to bad matchups (actually dropped them both) and added Fitz for the title game and he had 4 TDs before halftime.

Whatever Gordon gets, it wont be from the Chargers IMO.  They still have another good RB in Jackson.  They dont need to spend more money on Gordon.  And honestly, I think Ekeler is a better overall player IMO.  Just more of a weapon.

Now that is a great contract for a RB. Low GTD for his prime years and term ends before he hits 29. Fantastic bang for the buck. Don't sleep on Justin Jackson either, they could be quite the formidable duo.

Yeah, Gordon definitely will not be back in LA.

As much as I like Ekeler he is more of a specialist type back (although that dimension is really good), whereas Gordon is a two down runner who can be effective in passing situations. The problem is that Gordon isn't elite enough to command the type of money he wants but is too good to take what he can get. I think some team will pay decent money 6.5 to 8.5 million aav. But he will fall well short of the 10 million aav he wants. Then again weird things can happen in free agency.

Only 15m guaranteed so great contract for Chargers. Agree with others he's been a FF beast

He is an animal in full point PPR and very respectable in half point PPR. But in non-PPR formats he is more of a mid-level flex play. I would look at his stat lines all the time and he would often times have games where he got 15 points but it was off of 10 receptions and 50 total yards. Or in his worst games he would only get 20-30 yards but still get close to 10 points by getting 5-6 receptions. But in standard formats those games are busts.

But they still have Jackson too who is a good runner himself.  So its a two back set still and both are multi-dimensional weapon.
