My main bone of contention in @J-GunJoshAllen17’s post was when he insinuated that Josh drinks “cheap beer”. With the quantity he put back at the Sabres game a few weeks back, I am quite certain that his beer budget is quite strong.

hes got a round 2-3 grade. He 6’4” 225, 4.5 40 guy with a sub 7 3 cone... very productive in college and has bloodlines. High character guy.... those guys don’t last long. No way he makes it past the first 5-10 picks in round 3. I’d grade him 50-70... 

 

trade back into 2nd to get him.  first 2nd round pick is too high, esp. if someone like Mims is around (unlikely)

Seems like a joke.    The guys out there hurdling elite nfl defenders and running for first downs and more with ease.

I hope not.   Big Ben could in theory have gone from being a really good QB to a great QB if he took better care of his body.

 

Bruce Smith laid it out there in a little media piece watching film with Tre White.  He said you control 3 things: your film study, your nutrition, and your physical condition. 

 

There were a couple plays this season where if Josh had a little more burst he could have evaded a tackle and scored a touch or a first down.  I would like to see him follow Bruce Smith's advice and do the best that he can with his physical conditioning and nutrition, just as part of having that "do everything with a Championship mentality" state of mind.

 

I don't think Josh looks tubby, but I don't think he looks as fit and trim as he did before the draft, either, and if he truly wants to be great, he's literally leaving performance he could grasp on the table. 

 

All that said, Josh's biggest development need is still between his ears.

It's a point that Josh's yards per rush dropped this past season.  I think a lot of that is delayed decisions to run in favor of waiting for a receiver to come open, but I also agree that he doesn't look as buff as he did before the draft and he seemed a bit slower at times.

Look, I agree that Josh looks like he could get a bit more shredded and it couldn't hurt, but you literally have no idea what Josh eats as a regular diet.  Being seen at a Sabres game drinking with his two TE or eating the occasional Bar Bill does not mean "steady diet of cheap beer and chicken wings". 

 

And again...all that said, Josh's biggest development need is still between his ears.  An extra hour hitting the weights may not help him achieve optimal performance as a QB, as much as an extra hour in the film room will do right now.

Not trolling and thanks but I'll choose to continue to give my opinion despite the embarrassment.  He could be in better shape and it is obvious.  You might think it doesn't matter but I doubt there is an athlete that will tell their performance isn't at least a bit better when they are in peak physical condition.  I love Josh Allen and think he is going to be very good if not great, but I feel like he has a step to take in his conditioning.
