The guy is still pretty young at 31-32 (same age as Russell Wilson), but has played a long time and has been injured a bunch. He’s definitely a likely candidate to hang it up early a la Luck and Romo. If you are Detroit rather than wait for Stafford to leave you at the altar in a few years do you jump at the opportunity to draft a guy who can hold the fort for the next ten-fifteen years? Keep in mind the regime in Detroit (Quinn and Patricia) received a stay of execution from the owner. They badly need to win games this season in order to keep their jobs so doubt they trade Stafford.
