Feel free to explain the differences between Democratic Socialism and regular old Socialism.

You take dog sh*t (Socialism)

and add powdered sugar (Democracy)

It may be a little bit sweeter

But it's still dog sh*t (democratic socialism)

Are you saying you did not say Biden would easily beat Trump?

Yes.

I did.

And I still stand by that. (*but read my note below with regard to statements like this*)

Quote

Or that, once Biden imploded, Mayor Pete was your horse? Followed by Warren?

No. Never said I liked Warren. She and Bernie were ALWAYS my 2 LEAST favorite candidates.

You're clearly confused.

Yes I did say that about Pete. And I still like him best.

Quote

Are you not now saying, despite all the candidates being shown to have no ability to carry the vote that they will still beat Trump because a demo that never turns out magically will this time around?

*You're the one who likes to speak in absolutes.

I have a bet with you that Trump loses regardless of who the Democratic candidate is because that's what I believe will happen, even if Bernie wins the nomination.

But if Bernie is the nominee I can freely admit I'm much less confident than I would have been otherwise.

Like let's say my confidence will drop from like 80% to 60%... how about that?

But yes, I believe Democrats will turn out in droves in November.*

Quote

One of us is twisting. It ain't me ;)

Except you are, because I was never CERTAIN it was any individual candidate that would win the nominee, though I felt Biden was most likely.

You're spinning a narrative that I think in absolutes like you do and I don't.

I've ALWAYS thought it very possible Trump could be reelected.

I can be very honest that Bernie as a candidate makes me uneasy while also thinking he will win... but understand that last phrase for me in any context is never an absolute when it comes to the future.

Soothsayer I don't proclaim to be, even though I have my own thoughts--sometimes strong thoughts--of outcomes.

Quote

There are going to be so many new avatars to pick from for you come November. Maybe it'll be this one. Or maybe we'll do a new one every month for a year?

Image result for trump is great

Socialism is a stepping stone to Communism. That's the goal of socialism in all it's forms. That's not me saying this, that's Lenin.

I've honestly forgotten the precise terms of our bet.

Was it term length or one year?

I'll abide by whichever we agreed to if I lose, as I know you will if you do... I just forget the exact terms.

As to the 2nd statement, I guess you thought FDR was a communist and are anti-Social Security.

The Democrats need to start grasping the reality of a Bernie Sanders nomination. While he may not have enough delegates to win the nomination hes very likely going to have a huge lead heading into the convention. While I think Biden will likely emerge as his top challenger I don’t think he will considilate the moderate vote until more candidates drop out and by then it will be too late.

Sanders is very similar to 2016 Trump in the sense that hes not the establishment choice and there are questions about his electability.

At the end of the day I think there is enough hatred of Donald Trump amongs to Dems to unify their vote of Bernie, but don’t think for a second there wont be a lot of concern. The minute Bernie becomes the president elect the stock market is going to tank, and significant tax increases for anyone making over $29,000 would not be well-received amongst the middle class.

That said all these politicians are more talk than substance. There is zero chance congress allows Bernie to execute his plan as proposed (look at Trumps wall).

Putting the term "Democratic" in front of it doesn't make any more difference than calling Herpes "Democratic Herpes".

Bernie's use of "Democratic" is to a great extent branding the Democrat party every time he speaks, debates or wins a primary.  This is is why the DNC and so many elected Democrats are freaking out.  If Bernie is the nominee, he most likely can't win with his platform and if he does win he will ask dems in the House and Senate to support $15 min wage, Medicare for all, free college and giant tax increases.  Not even House and Senate dems in a majority will support those things IMO in numbers sufficient to get things passed.  Bernie is a lose lose for the dem party.

If Biden is ever going to become a top challenger, he needs to stop talking. He has made a number of embarrassingly incorrect comments on the trail (his dead son having been an AG, as an example, and the latest "I was arrested in Africa" fumble). Watching him talk is like watching Hillary trying to navigate a flight of stairs on her own.

For every Dem who moves to Bernie there are probably a dozen Never Trumpers who will do whatever they can to keep a socialist from becoming president, including voting for Trump.

I agree with this, but you used the wrong example. Trump's wall is currently being built.

You are correct on the wall (honestly don’t remember hearing about it). It did take him four years to get it pushed through (republicans are not usually keen on these types of infrastructure spends to my belief).

My point is that most of the public did not see Trump as very electable and look where he is today. Trump got elected because he brought in a lot of new voters that had sat out previous elections. I’d expect Bernie to bring in a lot of young voters that Hillary couldn’t.

This is what I am afraid of.
As much as I dislike the federal deficit, Trump attacking Jerome Powell etc. , I still like the economy as a whole currently.

Yeah.  I heard that four years ago too.  They won't increase taxes on the middle class.  The Dems in Congress wouldn't even approve of that.

Anyone who thinks communism is remotely acceptable has rocks in their head. My parents are from the former Yugoslavia and I still have large numbers of family there. I know of a gazillion examples of human rights violations.

Bernie is dangerous and should be given a wide berth by all voters with a modicum of common sense.
