Homemade Jalapeno Poppershttps://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/20858/best-ever-jalapeno-poppers/ - I've made them before and this recipe is solid.

Chicken wing dip - using real chicken breast and not canned.  ALWAYS used canned and went to make some a few months ago and realized I was out of canned chicken.  Threw a couple breasts into the oven and man .... what a significant difference.  Once you go real, you never go back!

Chili/Cheese fries. - Gonna use the canned Hormel chili.  It's just perfect for chili cheese fries and will cut down on time.

Beef on Weck - Not gonna actually do a roast and slice it.  Just gonna go to the deli and get some of their best roast beef sliced more thickly than I'd get if it were for regular sandwiches.  But the salt and caraway seeds are ready to "roll!"

Pizza - I am going back and forth on this one.  Every year, I miss commercials and parts of the game because I'm busy in the kitchen.  Every year, I say, "I'm ordering pizzas next year."  Every year, I end up making two pizzas and missing commercials and parts of the game.  I think I'll stick to my original thought and just order a pie or two.  But I DO have enough of that pepperoni left to do cup and char ............... hmmm ............

Beverages - I'll grab a 12-pack of Sierra Nevada Torpedos and an 18-pack of Labatt Light.  Start with the high octane, then settle down with the Labatt's.

Cheers!!!!!!

You deserve to be a METS fan if you're using canned chicken.

My Annual “I put way too much time into this every year” Super Bowl weekend menu ?
~Representing Kansas City: Smoked Brisket Burnt Ends, KC BBQ Spare Ribs, KC BBQ chips, KC Ice Water” cocktail (these are sooo good)
~Representing San Francisco: Peet’s Coffee (Berkeley), Cioppino, SF Sourdough, Rice-a-Roni, Anchor Steam beer,  J Lohr Paso Robles Cab (Santa Clara), Giardelli Black & Tan Sundaes
~Representing the host city of Miami: Cubano Minis, Joe’s Stone Crab recipe Key Lime Martini

My excitement over not having to find new ways to make New England cuisine again has been palpable ???

I'm in for a Key Lime Martini ... can you pass them thru a computer yet ?

I just learned our hosts are having some form of BBQ for KC, and clam chowder for San Francisco and a bunch of other stuff. Clam chowda? Huh? Cioppino maybe? I feel like we are celebrating the Patriots* yet again! I want to object, but I’ll be bringing beef on weck sliders (representing the Bills in the game next year!), they have a fabulous house with huge indoor and outdoor TV’s (HUGE projection screen by a pool table, which I miss), abundant drinks, and I won’t be with @JR in Pittsburgh, so I’ll keep things in perspective and be thankful.   :)

Is clam chowder really a San Francisco thing?

Life lesson learned: My only trip to SF was about 20 years ago. A tourist joint had a great sounding seafood special so I got it. I think it was worth mentioning upfront it was north of $80 all those years ago. I’m never shy about asking ever since.

OK, I had it in the bread bowl. I still wouldn’t go there for a SF menu item, with or without the sourdough bread. I’ve been scarred, I’m afraid.....

BTW, those seals on the wharf stink to high heaven, but not any worse than the Patriots* cheating ways!

Augie: “the squid in this ciopinno is so fresh!

can you pass me a little more and, while you’re at it, some of that lobster tail over there?”

JR: “the generic frank’s sauce does a nice job of masking the canned chicken in his dip. Can you hand me a few more saltines?”

Trying to remember everything, but i know a few things we had were avocado toast, in-and-out burgers (made the sauce), and gin and juice

Eww! I wouldn’t eat it! Lol

You just saved enough to pay for a couple years membership fees! My chemical engineer BIL (great guy really, but...) refuses to pay the annual fee. “You cannot justify the fee mathematically.” They drive down from Wisconsin to Atlanta to see their daughters and my mom  regularly. When he’s here he and his daughters love to go with my mom (on a very tight fixed income) to use her membership, load up and take it back to Wisconsin. We clearly spend too much money, but I’m pretty sure I save enough to pay for the fee on one weekend party, or flowers over the course of the year for my wife (I actually save over $100 every time I get her flowers, and they last longer).

Every family has SOME of that, right?

I did not see it anywhere yet, so I apologize if it’s there. We are 1 day out from the big game and TBD has always been a great place to talk food.

I got roped into hosting the Super Bowl Party this year. It is probably somewhere between 15 to 20 people. I’m going to make this as the main dish: Roast Pork Dip Sanwich. It is fantastic but a fair amount of work. Will do some rosemary roasted potatoes, salad and grilled vegetables to go along with it.

We will also have taco dip, hummus, cheese, crackers, pepperoni, olives, sundries tomatoes, bacon-wrapped jalapeños, grilled wings, and of course, king cake for dessert.

In terms of the drinks, every couple is bringing a bottle of wine and a good 6 pack. I’ll have booze and a couple of cases of “drinking beers.”

What do you guys have planned for tomorrow night???

OK, important question here for everyone: at what time are people invited to arrive?

I may have an @JR in Pittsburgh issue here. Wives have no clue sometimes!

@YoloinOhio .....What an incredible spread!  Are you smoking those burnt ends yourself?

I got a brisket in the smoker right now....rubbed down with salt, pepper and garlic powder....going to pull it out after about 6 hours, chop the point into cubes and put some brown sugar in a bowl, along with some homemade KC style sauce....tomato based, a little apple cider vinegar, molasses.....Burnt ends are like candy....if beef was candy.....so freakin good.

Will be drinking Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat bear...(a KC staple)

The monday following the SB should be national holiday.

Easy way out. Friends are hosting.  Pizza and wings with 20 plain to dress in my garlic hot sauce.  Heinekens and vodka. Niners 34-24. We'll try to pull in Greg Papa and the SF broadcast online and synch up the DVR. Should be a great night.

No, ordered the burnt ends From a local bbq restaurant. They do them really well and my smoker is packed away for the winter so it was just easier.
