Patriots lose their OL coach again - Dante Scarnecchia retires again

The Bills & Jets will be taking over the AFC east this season.  I'd be surprised if they both don't make the playoffs with NE battling Miami to stay out of last place.  We have the advantage with McDermott over Gase in NY, but the Jets are not going to have another season like 2019 where their QB goes down with mono, their top free agent on D has a lost season and their rookie (now 2nd year ) DT is banged up & underachieves.  The Jets will be a formidable opponent this upcoming season, with Darnold, Mosley, & Q. Williams at full strength, NE, not so much.

Lol “genius” aka teach holding and how to get away with it.

Don't get me wrong he’s a good coach... but genius?

Lazy take. He's outstanding. NE was top 2 this year (not number 1) in fewest holding penalties called against them, but was only 20th the year before.

In 2017 they were 10th, in 2016 they were 27th.

This is big. He’s a HUGE reason for their continued success in the run game over the years.

Even he couldn't make it go this past year. I think with a QB who held the ball more we would be ranking that line as among the worst in the league.

That’s actually a pretty significant loss to the coaching staff

Yep, he's pretty much unanimously considered the best OL coach in the league and one of the all time greats. It's a huge loss.
