Personally I don't care. Not going to get butt hurt over such a thing. A little surprised, he was mad when they traded him. I guess in the end he blames it all on Chip.

It WAS all Chip.

McCoy has been a consummate pro.  He was a great Eagle and a great Bill and is doing what he can in KC.

He deserves this, IMO.

Wouldn't expect him to do anything different.  He has an interesting spin on his departure from Buffalo, though...said he was "better than the guys they had there" and the cut was a surprise because there were trade offers that the Bills "shot down."  Probably just a bit of an ego hit for the guy.  No harm no foul.  Singletary was much better than Shady would have been in our backfield last year.

Frank Gore had a better year too. That says alot. The chiefs have needed their best players on the field the last 2 weeks, and Reid hasnt had him touch the football once, and only played 1 snap.

True about Singletary, but Shady was better than Gore or Yeldon. I think Buffalo did the right thing and let him pick where he played in 2020

Yep.  Just Shady being Shady.

Of course he's going to think he's better than a rookie, as well as a high mileage Gore or meh Yeldon.    He's a proud guy who uses a lot of motivational leverage to drive his game.    He was fun to watch, and the snow game will always be a great memory...

McCoy has clearly lost a step and is not even close to the player he was in his prime. With that said, there is absolutely no doubt he would have been a better option than gore this year. It's simply impossible for an NFL RB to be less effective than gore was the second half of the year.

The move was about money, and gore being more of a process guy.

Right, he's still so good he barely plays with the cheifs. I always liked Mccoy and hope he gets a ring this Sunday, but some guys just can't accept when their play declines

Honestly, releasing him was good for both sides and speaks volumes of how the Bills FO respected Shady.  Rather than trade him to a Browns, Colts, Bucs team for example, they let him choose where he wanted to go and he picked his old coach Andy Reid. Beane could have acquired an asset (draft pick) for Shady, but respected him enough to let Shady choose his own landing spot.  McCoy shouldn't be disappointed in the way it was handled at all.

Chip traded a still in prime McCoy for measly Kiko.  I’d say that’s blame worthy.

why wouldn’t he want to retire an eagle in his home town, where he was drafted, where he played most of his career and where he had his three top seasons.

if he wanted to retire a Bill it would be odd.

Shady was an important part of this team and breaking our playoff drought. He was entertaining and electric at times.

I'll remember him fondly and wish him the best.

Also... there must be some self awareness, as he is talking about where he'd like to retire.

I think, read carefully, he is talking about different things.  Recall that there were rumors about McCoy as a trade target the previous year, in 2018 near the trade deadline.  McCoy says his agent was fielding calls.  Allen was injured and Peterman/Derek Anderson were starting; the OL sucked; we'd lost several in a row.  Teams were keying off McCoy and he was gaining  0.5, 1.1, 1.0 ypa.  Had to be pretty miserable for him.  Then Allen returned and business picked up for him.

This summer after TC though, I don't think the Bills were fielding trade calls.

Are we sure Gore had a better year?  He averaged 3.6 ypc and 2 tds.  Shady averaged 4.6 ypc (I m honestly shocked by that) and had 4 tds.  I don’t know if there is more to the story but when given carries, he’s actually been fairly productive.
