... WTF! How well thought out is this? When mosquito season is on us, don’t they think that some of this Wuhan virus will be transmitted by them to other humans? That idiocy is brought to us by the paper and plastic grocery bag banning know-it-alls.

i see you're catching on... ;)

Vermont is a 3b-5b hardiness zone. You'd need to start the seeds now (6-8 weeks) if you want them ready to plant by May 15th or May 30th, especially for longer growing plants.  ?‍♂️ Banning the sale of seeds is

Well, if people had seeds they might just be able to feed themselves versus throwing themselves at the feet of a socialist central government.

If you’re keeping score at home, here’s another take to add to the pile of defenses of China as the coronavirus pandemic continues:

The sort of hard hitting, insightful journalism that is produced when the CCP covers your payroll

Same people who think wet markets are good will shut down lemonade stands and grandma selling baked goods at a farmers market.

.

Bloomberg news has the most pro China content out of all the mainstream outlets.

I don’t just say that, it’s true.   I keep up with this stuff

Let me preface this by saying my move to Idaho had nothing to do with what is happening right now, but my family been building my wife garden with about 10 raised planters and a coop for eight chickens. I have no idea why someone views seeds to be non-essential, but you can buy seeds online from a gzillion different seed companies. You can also track down your local homesteading group and they will absolutely go out of their way to help you get set up with whatever you need to start growing your own produce.

Local climate notwithstanding, if you really want to grow fruits, vegetables, herbs, etc., you can absolutely do it regardless of the local grocery store or your local government.

if i were you, i'd look into starting a bee hive as well. one hive can produce 60lbs of honey, not to mention that they will pollinate the ***** out of your garden and any fruit trees you might have. they are really beneficial to the local surroundings.

Well, of course you can source seed from numerous sources.  But what if the restriction grows from the neighborhood store to catalog or online sources which is in essence my joke?  Before COVID-19 I would have said impossible as to not being able to buy or plant seed.  In the last week we have politicians such as DiBlasio saying that places of religious worship should be closed permanently.  By the way who is DiBlasio sending out to tell the Muslims that the mosques will never reopen should a permanent ban come to be?  Under the surface there appears to be quite a number of socialists or communists ready to take charge should society at present fail.  A starving population no doubt is a willing population in their minds.

By the way Kudos to your gardening and livestock efforts.  Hopefully, you will take the next step in terms of vegetable staples such as potatoes and sweet corn. Not as fancy and impressive as raised beds but gives you some control over the bulk of your food supply.

Lastly, as of this morning on the local home improvement radio show plants for vegetables and fruits are NOT prohibited at this point in time for NY.

And mostly...........where the hell do they get the authority for this selective decision of what stores can live and what will be killed by the quarantine ?

They don't. They are violating the US Constitution by arbitrarily inhibiting commerce.

The comments are completely off the rails (regardless of what you think of the tweet itself...)

I only read the first three but became very disheartened in a hurry.  The useful idiots are obviously plentiful for what the Cuomo's, Schumers, and Pelosi's have in store for us.

That's next on the list. My wife wanted to do it in the midst of everything else, but when it comes to things I've never done before, I am more of a crawl/walk/run person. The chicks are still alive, most of the seeds are in or are in the guest room waiting to be moved out. Next week we put in fence posts, then fencing, the move chicks out, etc.

Before even reading the comments I thought Cuomo was a little off by discounting the 4400 + ventilators and all of the protective gear along with hospitals and a hospital ship that the feds had already given NYS.

They are asking hospitals for actual usage numbers so they can properly plan where to send medical supplies.

He is saying we have to open the country again as soon as possible.

He is now talking about the chats he had with the commissioners of the national sports leagues (from football to horse racing).

FEMA and HHS have ordered 180 Million N95 masks.

Keep in mind most of those comments are not from actual people with opinions, but from the Tibs brigade; people getting paid to reply, retweet, etc. These aren't original thinkers. Just hired basement dwellers.

India makes large amounts of the hydroxychloroquine drug. They will be sending more after the Trump call/request (there is currently  29M doses in the strategic stockpile, Trump wants more).

Remdesivir was mentioned as promising in the group using it.

SBA paycheck protection program processed over xx loans (he mentioned the number of lending partners + loans, but I missed the exact numbers). Faith based houses of worship are also eligible.

He will ask for more money for this program if they run out of money.
