What. A. Moron.

Maybe it was sarcasm?

Can say that testing is becoming more widely available.  We've had 3 people at work now tested and none were dire cases.  Each was suspicious and each tested negative, but they were able to get a test order written by doc, tested same day and results within hours or 24 hours.  Our local hospital only has Covid-19 patients who are very elderly and not healthy.  In our community this is having little impact on otherwise healthy people.

IMO, a thorny issue isn't going to be testing but keeping the sick people, after a positive test, from coming to work because they want to avoid the PITA of a 14-day quarantine, afraid they will lose their job if they are out that long,  or using two weeks of sick time that may not be paid time.

I'm about tired of all the Covid-19 messaging in the draft coverage. We get it, NFL. You care. A lot. Thanks for the deep enlightening thoughts, but please STFU and and tell me about the players.

And stop with the player profile videos when the next pick is in!

Seems to me that the vast majority of employers would insist on those employees being off work until they are able to come back.  People have sick time and any employer worth a damn will pay such a person while they're out.  I'm sure as you mention though that there are some employers that won't.  Any company with a PPP loan is required to pay them.

Maybe you all would like to think outside the box for ways to combat this virus instead of acting like our press and dismissing everything President Trump says out of hand, simply because President Trump has said them.

When asked by a reporter about his suggestion that they should look into injecting disinfectants Trump said

“Nah, I was asking a question sarcastically to reporters just like you to see what would happen,” Trump claimed, responding to a reporter who asked him to explain his remarks that lit up on social media.

“I was asking a sarcastic, and a very sarcastic question, to the reporters in the room about disinfectant on the inside. But it does kill it,” Trump said, not mentioning that any injection of a disinfectant also would kill the human being receiving the injection.

"That was done in the form of a sarcastic question to the reporters,” he concluded.

So I should take him seriously and not dismiss what he says. He says something ridiculously irresponsible and stupid and your first reaction is to defend him. Then the next day he lies and says he was just being sarcastic. In the middle of a pandemic the attention junkie President is front and center everyday lying and evidently being sarcastic while the medical professionals look on in horror.

The US response to this pandemic has been a train wreck from the start and this country is suffering far worse than any other because of it. It's been a great opportunity for the rich to steal more of the people's money from the Treasury though.

I'm not a Democrat btw, I'm just an American who wants an honest, responsible, functioning govt. This is an ongoing disaster and somehow 3 months into it there still is not enough protective gear or available testing. Lies and sarcasm are useful for campaigning unfortunately but they don't solve real problems. Maybe if we all pretend hard enough it will just go away.

I would say yes.   The issue with using this to treat the Covid issue is that the viral effects cause pulmonary fibrosis from my reading, which in turn affects the alveoli, and from the diagram shown I see no way the UV light would penetrate into the alveoli to have an effect.  I commend you for finding this, however.

Your 14 seconds of research into this subject is quite impressive.
What kind of medical doctor are you? I assume a specialist of some kind?

I’m confused regarding this bull#### disingenuous disinfectant story...and have a question

Why is the media paying so much attention to Trumps COVID press conference - when they told us not to pay attention to Trump’s COVID press conferences?

Mnuchin saying the government is considering taking equity stakes in energy companies? Huh?

First, taxpayer money does not go to bail out Trump’s cronies because Congress said no.

Second, this would leave taxpayers owning the riskiest slice and gov’t ownership of energy companies.

This is how you take over a country.

Communications, and energy, with mis-information all the way.

U.S. weighs taking equity stakes in U.S. energy companies, Mnuchin says

It's not condensation. It's truth. You're better than that post.

You answered a rhetorical question.

This is a relevant thread to the news and could be pretty good without the message board flexing and bullying. Every morning it tends to start out strong and then goes off a cliff in a few hours.

injecting disinfectants has been done for decades. one example is hydrogen peroxide via a nebulizer.

try using that thing between your ears before letting the #TDS take firm hold and opening your mouth.

You’re defending what he said like he meant it and knows about using a nebulizer (not injection obviously).

Trump was spitballing about injecting surface disinfectants (!!!) in a press conference with ratings higher than American Idol. When called on it, he said he was being sarcastic, something none of his defenders including you suggested because he’s clearly just backpedaling out of justified embarrassment. It’s the schoolyard bully taking a blow right to the chin.

Why did Trump take his ball and go home yesterday? He looked silly and people were mocking him.

We move on but he got what he deserved for a dumb idea on a topic he should be well read on by now.

Walmart store in Colorado shuts down after coronavirus deaths

Public health officials in Aurora, Colorado, ordered a Walmart supercenter to shut down Thursday after a 72-year-old Walmart worker, her 63-year-old husband, and a 69-year-old third-party security contractor for the company died from coronavirus.

Six additional employees at the store tested positive for coronavirus, the Tri-County Health Department in Colorado said Thursday. Three other workers were suspected of having the virus and were awaiting lab results.

"No evidence" that recovered COVID-19 patients cannot be reinfected: WHO

GENEVA (Reuters) - The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Saturday that there was currently “no evidence” that people who have recovered from COVID-19 and have antibodies are protected from a second coronavirus infection.

In a scientific brief, the United Nations agency warned governments against issuing “immunity passports” or “risk-free certificates” to people who have been infected as their accuracy could not be guaranteed.

Most studies have shown that people who have recovered from infection have antibodies to the virus, the WHO said. However, some of them have very low levels of neutralizing antibodies in their blood, “suggesting that cellular immunity may also be critical for recovery”, it added.

That may explain why some get reinfected

It is in a great place!  Where do you think it is?

Situated nicely between two oceans with a wall to the south and a country more occupied with maple syrup, bacon and fake eyebrows, America enjoys the natural protections of those oceans and the unnatural protections of the cannon fodder to the north. America is ideally situated and proves the old adage that location, location, location is the most important factor in choosing a location.

People who recover developed antibodies. Most “reinfections” as you call them have been re-detections and almost wholly without symptoms.

Don’t spread panic my man.
