So How Happy is McCoy Now ?

Recommended Posts

Whether Shady may or may not be active (I hope he will be...) I'll be rooting for him and the Chiefs in the Superbowl... They are after all "The AFC representative AND NOT the New England Patriots". And as far as Watkins is concerned, I never questioned his "attitude". I had a problem with paying him $16 million a season when he couldn't seem to stay healthy. I think that John Brown had a better season in terms of "productivity" and is significantly less expensive both this past year and the upcoming next two seasons as well! When you factor in the cost of the two contracts (Brown at 9 million/yr avg for both 2020 & 2021 vs Watkins at $16 million/yr which btw expires after 2020) it seems likes a "no brainer" that Brown is the better investment. Also I like Andy Reid. He is an excellent HC (also NOT NAMED Belichick).

and besides Garopolo still has some of that "New England Stench" on him.... Go CHIEFS!

Kelly called his own plays so that was on him, not Marv.   If Marv is to be faulted, it's for not taking the play calling away from Jim once it became obvious what Belichick was doing, and run Thurman more, which would have won the game.

Oh, and making a few (actually, quite a few) more tackles by the defense would have helped a bit as well.

BTW, back OT, I hope Shady gets to dress on Sunday.   But I'm picking the 49ers, so it might not be a happy ride off into the sunset...

This. Times infinity.

I remember Marv saying in an interview after SBXXV  that the offense should have run the ball more. As if he weren't the coach and didn't have the power to overrule Kelly.

I don't root against any former Bill to not succeed once they leave unless and until the Bills  play them or they trash mouth the team and area once they leave.....if they end up on an AFC East opponent especially the Pats THEN Im not only irked but they are then on my permanent **** list...a few that come to mind are Kiko Alonzo . 7-11 and Stephone Gilmore to name a few. Shady had his off the field issues and even landed in McDermotts doghouse at least once that I can recall but to his credit he did at least publically embrace Buffalo and left kept it classy when he left. I can get behind rooting for the Chiefs except then we're likely never going to let die the "we coulda shoulda" had Mahomes" rhetoric its bad enough now imagine if he actually earns a ring in KC **shudders***

I guess that Delicia debacle never resulted in any charges that situation seemed to just fade away unless I missed something....?

she is a piece of work. I wouldn’t be surprised if she orchestrated that whole scenario herself.

Glad someone brought this up.......

I am a fan of McCoy...I thought he did it the right way when we released him to go to the Chiefs....

I feel like his running style and Singletary's just too close together and time to pass that torch.

...certainly agree...he took the "High Road Out"......but the post about Shady>Thurmal in their respective Bills tenure?...seriously?.....SMH.......

it was VERY sketchy and could have been a money grab ploy but I hate to go there if she was indeed a victim ….those allegations did  sully  his name that entire season... I don't know how something like that could be completely kept quiet and no charges ever brought its very suspicious...if it wasn't a staged event whomever did it got off scott free both scenarios are terrible.

Meh.

This is how I feel.  He seems like a dirtbag as a person and he's not on the Bills anymore, so I really don't care about him one way or the other.

Happy he was on the Bills for a bit.   Long term I think he makes it into the Hall of Fame, arguably the best back in the NFL from 2011-2014.

Not sure how happy he will be to win a superbowl not being active, but I wish him all the best.

No chance.

Lynch was the dominant RB '11-'14.

It is kind of sad, I can’t believe he is at the end of his career. He didn’t look too shabby in preseason. When Ladainian was at the end of his career, he had clearly lost a few steps. Shady still looks quick and shifty to me.

He was happy on Chippewa St.  Now I'm sure he's happy in the 18th and Vine district of KC.  As for the game, wishing him luck.

I dont think there is no chance.   The guy is around 1000 yards behind Thurman and has him in touchdowns.   He is not a first ballot guy by any means, but I do think long term he will be considered or make it.

On the Lynch thing, you may have me.  Its debatable as Shady missed some games and still had more total yards, but Lynch has him in touchdowns.

Always like Andy Reid. Always appreciated what Shady meant to Buffalo and rooted for Sammy even after he was gone. Gotta pull for the Chiefs and the AFC, even if Mahomes is my biggest FEAR going into the future with Josh.

McCoy has made lots of money.....and even this year he made $4mil.  Good to go to SB, but he would have played in Buffalo.  Still think his weeks on the injured list in KC likely would have been the case in Buffalo as well.   I think, however, he would have been a good example (maybe not mentor) for the young Motor.   Shady in his best years in Buffalo was better than anybody since OJ. (TT was good but not as likely to go the distance as Shady)

Everyone has their own opinion but my opinion is that this is goofy.

Thomas was a key figure of 4 AFC Champions.  McCoy is going to his first SB as a 3rd stringer who may not even dress.

Maybe he'll get into the HOF after E James, Steven Jackson, Corey Dillon and Fred Taylor.

So....no chance.

I guess it’s nice for him that he’ll be on a Super Bowl roster .... wondering if he’s planning another party where the ladies have to apply and submit medical records!  He was a better soldier in Buffalo than I thought he’d be, and our one bonafide star for several years ... he hit the wall however - no shame in that, we all do sooner or later.

Nor did he pout when he was traded here.

Always played hard and produced at a high level here for 3+ years.   Don't know why so many here don't like the guy.

That is not true.  He threw a fit until we gave him that sweet contract.  Once he got paid he was happy, but not before.  And to be clear, be wanted paid in Philly too so it was about the money, not the city.  He’d have been happy anywhere with that contract though.

Hope he gets a chance to play and contribute.    Shady has been a good back and I think he could bring something to the big game.   Im rooting for him.

At the beginning of the season it looked like we had a RB room with the most experience in the entire NFL & the Bills would let the rookie learn behind 2 of the best in the game at this point & then the hammer dropped & McCoy was sent to KC & i was kind of taken back & i think McCoy was too because he was a part of the reason that Gore was brought in & he looked forward to being his running mate .

Even though McCoy went to a team that he was familiar with the coach & more than likely the scheme in which he was fixing to be a part of # 25 had become endeared to the Bills mafia & has had some good years while in B/lo so i would imagine he super thrilled when he first had to pack up & go !

But what do you think he is feeling now ? I think he has some friends here & good memories but the SB makes the move all better & I bet he's on cloud 9 knowing he will get to go to the Super Bowl & has a really good chance to win it all .

I am going to be rooting for the Cheifs simply because of the time they have been out of the running for a SB & the simple fact that the 49ers have had more than enough of the big game in the past !

Plus i would like to see McCoy win the big one & Andy is deserving of a SB for all he has done for the game ! I bet Ragland & Watkins are pretty happy too !!

With much less weapons here in Buffalo, he likely would have been used more and put up better numbers.  But would they have wanted to keep all three active every week and who would have been the #1 guy?

I enjoyed McCoy while he was here.  I am glad that he made it to the Super Bowl.  Unfortunately, he might not even dress.

I would bet Andy Reid dresses McCoy for the Super Bowl, out of respect for their long relationship.  If they are winning, no doubt he gets a carry or two.

Possibly but also its the super bowl.  A HC has to do whats best for the team, not the individual.
