Leodis?

I looked up McGee and he did make it in ‘04 so must be him. They must have been referring to return specialist and not overall ST because as someone else pointed out moorman made it multiple times after 2004.

What we really need is Legit WRs with more than ONE Skillset

at WR1

WR4

WR5

We have too many ONE skillset WRs on this Roster

Which is why I like Shenault in round 1.

He can Be McKenzie with the Jet Sweeps and out of the backfield.

He can be physical and high point (Duke Williams)

And he has Speed (Foster) will time in the low 4.4s to 4.3s

Now you have ONE WR that has the Skill sets of currently 3.

Now you can still go get those single Skill Set WRs for WR 4 and WR5.  but I would rather get WRs with more than 1 Skill Set

This is Straight Dope.  A lot of what Daboll has been fighting is how to keep defenses off balance, while swapping personnel to put different skills on the field.

The results have not been ideal.

yeah leodis was first team all pro returner in 2012 but no pro bowl for him.

McGee ... was 04 the year of that 99.9 yards kickoff return for no points?

By the end of the season is had the reverse effect. Teams knew when McKenzie was on the field look for misdirection, motion and jet sweep stuff. Foster look for Bills to attack Vertically.

the one skill set WRs made this offense very predictable by the end of the season

Yes, that's exactly what I meant by saying "a lot of what Daboll has been fighting" - fighting the "tell" that swapping personnel provides to a D.

The Bills tried through the season to expand both McKensie's and Foster's roles and had better success with McKensie than with Foster in an expanded WR role.  But it wasn't good.

agree that is why a talent like Shenault is a better fit than another one skill WR. Not saying Higgins is that. But looking at DJ reasoning sure looks it.

because now Entire offense available without having to take Shenault off the field.

this is interesting.  Roberts may never touch the ball given that the NFL is testing out new "kickoff" rules at the ProBowl.

If I'm a ProBowl coach, I'm going "onside" a couple times.

There are still punt returns but I don't hate that new idea.

Which blew my mind, because the few times they ran jet sweeps with Foster, Knox, Roberts, etc they were effective. Any rational person would have gone back to the well for more.

Yeah we need a 6th WR spot for a just a guy, that 6th WR that is currently playing in the ProBowl.  Keep dreaming.

My bad, I should have mentioned this post was meant to be sarcastic. I believe I'm one of Duke's biggest detractors. I keep Andre over Duke all day, every day.

disagree.  Foster will be gone.  We want that field position.  Shorter the field the easier our suspect offense scores.  If the Jets game mattered, we would have been 11-5.

Again, my bad for not making it clear I was being sarcastic. Big Duke detractor that I am, I would prefer him over Foster. Only Foster. My hope is we upgrade enough to where both are expendable.

That sounds horrendous. The kickoff return was once the most exciting play in football.

It's already been neutered, now they'll drag it out back and put one between the ears. Sad.

Se the AFC QB's  were Watkins, Jackson and.... Mahomes but he's out so see Tannerhill took his spot.  Wonder how far down the voting Allen was?  Personally if I were a fan watching game, would rather see Allen than Tannerhill as he's certainly more exciting to watch.

I'm sure there will deafening oohs and ahhs watching Tannerhill's play action fakes

Right seems like lots players are one skilled it's areas. It is much easier to defend when things are simple.

Two Tres and a Dre at the Pro Bowl!

664 return yards underscores how little value the position has. That’s 41 yards per game when taking a knee (or tossing the ball at the ref) gets you 25

I’m all about Tannehill getting the feather in his cap come payday. Not a big deal but let some team pay him for the honor instead of josh getting the bump.
