I actually agree, it was extremely obvious and pathetic, but yet people still clicked on it - what does that say about them?

It says they're pathetic and stupid.

HOW pathetic and stupid...we shall see...

Long time ago I worked at a company doing building component packages.  Many of the people there were on porn sites a lot.  One of the drafters sent drawings out to a customer that somehow had porn website addresses printed across them in large font.  No way to miss those.  Luckily it was the building industry.  No one got into any trouble.  Good thing it wasn’t a job for Chick-fil-A (which was also a client).

I worked at a rest stop along the thruway throughout high school and beyond (about 6 years), and it was a blast. The staff was essentially 4-6 of my best friends, depending on the time. We’d hang, shoot the ***** and do a bunch of dumb stuff.

One night after our particular donut shop closed, we were to dispose of (not take, my god, that’d be stealing) all of the remaining baked goods. We played “horse” in the garbage cans with the donuts and muffins and ultimately ended up playing dodgeball with them. The manager walked in, and just kinda stared at the aftermath, told us to clean it up, shook his head and moved on. That was the kind of business that was being run. It was incompetent and complacent management dealing with teenage kids who didn’t give a rats arse about the company.

Years later, I put in my two weeks with the rest stop and on my last day they had me unloading trucks into the walk in cooler and deep freezer. I actually loved this part of the job. It was a common prank to occasionally cut the bottom of a box open. For example, you might slit the packaging tape on the bottoms of the box to 650 plastic barbecue dip containers. Then when “Bill” goes to restock the sauces, the dumb effer is picking up sauce packets in the cooler.

My last day, I pulled this trick on a ton of the boxed items in the cooler, including the bagged cheeses that were used at one of the fast food joints. Turns out that bad boy was accidentally sliced a bit too deep, and when it was picked up, broke completely open and spilled everywhere. It was a mess. I saw the pictures. If I hadn’t already quit, I’m sure I’d be fired.

I could bore you with more stories, like the time a guy I worked with was tackled through the bathroom wall or the other time an old man died in the lobby. It was a weird time in my life, and at the end of the day it was just a job. Still, I can’t help but crack a big smile every time I drive by that damn place

In the old days I liked pranking work friends, but most of it no longer plays in this day and age.

One time many years ago I sent myself a suggestive and inappropriate email from a female co-worker's computer.  I then replied to her with something like 'I've told you this is inappropriate, blah, blah, blah' and I cc: ed the head of HR, only with a very slight typo in the email address so the cc: didn't actually go anywhere.   Of course, my friend missed that detail and when she saw the reply went bombing down to HR to explain that it was just a joke.  The head of HR had no idea what she was talking about.  Lots of laughs ensued.

Agreed, I look back at the stuff we used to pull in my younger days & it would never fly in today's world.  When I was in my 20's, their was an older lady who used to have these potted plants all over the office.  She used to spend half her day watering them.  They kind of looked like Cactus without the arms or the prickles.  Well the one day me & and couple of my buddies got into work early & put condoms over all of them.  We thought it was funny but she broke down in tears right in the office.  Our Manager knew it was me & a few of my friends, called us in the office & said "knock the crap off."  & that was that, if I did that now my guess is it wouldn't end well.

Yup, that was standard reprimand in the old days.  Today you'd be in CNN today for doing that....

I got caught making out with a hot chick in cooler by her older sister head chef, who I went on a couple dates earlier that year

Another time I got in trouble for playing  hackysack in prep area of kitchen

You're lucky the head chef didn't use you for a hackysack.
