I agree completely with all of this IT is a dumb rule applied to areas that it should not be and this was one of those it should of not be called As for OT agree 100% I was scratching my head at why no runs with singletary was no need to rush down just take your time march down and kick the FG ... they seemed to be playing in a end of the game rushed mode imo and not very patient Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It clearly looks like he lead with both shoulder and forearms on this play from an up-field position. Pretty clear penalty under the rules and hard to miss at that point by the ref. The bills are about to possibly win the game in ot if their FG kicker makes a 50 yard FG in OT. Then the refs say no it’s a personal foul for a blind side hit. Ok let’s look at it. A blind side hit is when you blow some one up and the guy ends up on the ground. It’s also usually from the back. Now you tell me if this was the patriots this would be called. This was nothing happened on this play they were both facing each other also on the last drive for Houston on 3 down and 18 yards the clock ran out by a full second. We rewound it and watched it 4 times it was more then a second. The texans made the first down when the guy dove. There was a review and I thought they were looking at the clock ⏰ and if he made the line to gain for the 1st down. Just 2 reasons why this was caused things to end the way they did. Things like intent, severity, and a host of other factors always come into play. The odd second half kickoff/TD they took off the board is a perfect example. To the letter of the law, the official obviously didn’t feel like he gave himself up and called it a TD. However “after discussion” they reversed it and the term “common sense” started getting thrown around in ensuing analysis of the whole debacle. To the letter of the law, there also holding, PI, illegal contact, etc. on a majority of snaps. Watt, 100% landed his full weight on Allen at one point, which we’ve seen called and then not called. All of the rules are called subjectively, so things like intent and “spirit of the rule” always come into play. Again... YE OLE’s two cents is they generally let them play all day, and didn’t call a very tight game. Nobody was getting injured based on Ford’s actions.
