People keep thinking that this Pats team can just flip the switch, as they have in the past - but Brady has looked old MOST of the year (Bills game excepted). Would he be ok with being a mentor who will eventually sit on the bench? Eli was in that position and didn’t like it. This year they have been running the ball and playing good defense. Most of their passing game has been the quick slant, and Edelman has not been as reliable as usual for a lot of the season. As some others have mentioned it might just be a few people at the very top, especially Ernie Adams and Bill. The fewer people who know, the better. Still, players and coaches are now openly talking about how "funny things" happen in Foxborough. I do think most of them see it as ticky tack stuff that doesn't decide games, though.
