Not someone to blame officiating, but that overturned fumble recovery was a game changing play....and totally botched.  The explanation by the college rules analyst was equally as bad.

 

Several feet/steps down, ball controlled then outstretching the ball...doesn't matter if forward or toward your own goaline....that's the definition of possession and a football move

Terrible way for the Buckeyes to lose. Thought they had it for sure on the final drive, probably didn’t need to go for the whole enchilada on that play, and it came back to bite them. A miscommunication or something , and the WR falls down. At least force Clemson to make a great play... the pass went right to the defender.

fell down breaking in the wrong direction.  Either way, just another int for Fields.

But how is his forward progress not stopped? He's being run backwards by the cb.
