This one was on the defense folks

We were gashed by the run and on the "extension of the run game" being screens/flats to their rb's.

We couldn't generate practically any pressure at all as far as a pass rush goes(when we did they had the right play called to bust it).

Allen while missing a couple throws played about as good as you can against that defense and kept us in the game. He made a couple bombs and got Cole over 100 yards again once a team took away smoke. No fumbles no picks and 2 TDS against this defense is a damn good performance not to mention a 102 passer rating. Get the kid 1 more good rb to hand off to as well as a Julio Jones/ Plax type wideout to be 1a or 1b outside across from smoke and I think we will become dominant next season.

The needle is pointing up everyone Josh Allen has us in striking distance against the Ravens and now the pats 2 of the best teams in the NFL . We really need to replace Zo and Hughes and then I think we will be set.

On to the playoffs ?

Agree for the most part.   I felt our play calling on both sides of the ball was overly conservative, and coming from an old school guy that likes conservative football that is tough to say.  And we got beaten physically on both sides of the lines, with very poor tackling by the defense in addition to that.

Bottom line is Brady is Brady, and Belichick is Belichick.  The two best ever at what they do.  Brady can read what our D wants to do very quickly and get to the right play.  Belichick can take away what offenses want to do and make life miserable for young QBs.  They did what they do yesterday, and that's why they've won the division for what seems like forever.  But we're close now, and it's going to turn soon.

It definitely was on the defense.   They seemed to have Vanilla pass rush packages.   Very few blitzes or stunts.  Of course NE’s effective as on the ground helped that happen but even on some obvious passing downs the Bills weren’t able to bring the heat.   Brady was way too comfortable back there.

Also the run defense was steam rolled, way too many missed tackles.   A disappointing defensive performance.

No doubt NE deserves a lot of credit, they finally played a game this year with an identity and their run game kept the defense so off balance that the play action killed them.   Hats off to their scheme and that was on the coaches.    But all the missed tackles is totally on the players and was very uncharacteristic from this defense.

I don’t believe we will see that happen again over the next few games for the Bills.

I agree we are knocking on the door, Josh is getting better and better just needs a real open when not wideout and a bruising short/hard yard rb and our offense will be set. Other than that a couple minor tweaks on defense and we're a contender (already a contender might I add ?)

Like I said on that defense that's not too shabby, if we could've run the ball and stopped the run it was a different game neither are Josh's shortcoming

The Pats did expose our CB depth after Tre White. It seemed like they went with 4 WR a lot tonight. Our nickel package was totally abused. Against the Patriots it would be nice to have a man to man CB just follow Edelman around the field and shut him down.

Agreed that's what I saw

This was a very well rounded loss.  The O left points on the field -Allen missing Knox for two TDs on both the first and last drives of the game, that's 11 points, enough to win the game.  Also missing other open/easy completions on 3rd down killed drives.

We were up 17-10 at one point and the D gave up 3 long drives allowing the cheaters to score 14 points.  17-13 then 17-16 then 17-22 then 17-24 on the 2 point conversation.  For a defense first team that's just unacceptable.

The refs did everything in their power to give the cheaters a W.  In the first half the Refs ignored multiple cheater penalties, moving them down the field, then giving them a first down when they were short of the line to gain, ON FORTH DOWN.  This drive resulted in a FG.  THE REFS GAVE THOSE CHEATERS 3 POINTS.  THE CHEATERS DID NOTHING TO EARN IT.

The Allen facemask = refs hoping the eliminate the Bills on 4th down.  The no-call on Gilmore's PI = the refs killing a Bills drive.  There's more that I won't rehash, you get the idea.

Was it? The offense couldn't sustain a drive 3:15 on our very first drive after the turnover was our longest drive of the day until the last one. You cn't have your defense on the field 2/3s of the game against NE and expect to win. D has some blame to take. But the O was inept outside two magic throws.

We were never up 17-10. We were down 13-10 and up 17-13. Then the D got a 3 and out immediately. Then our O went 3 and out. Then they went down and we held them inside the redzone to a FG. 17-16. Then our O went 3 and out again. And finally the bend and break broke having been on the field 38 of the 54 minutes of the game played to that point.

After the first series of the game, the Defense was not outstanding. They could not get off the field. Its tough for the offense to score points, when the other time is having multiple 8 and 9 minute drives. How many times did the Patriots punt yesterday? Twice.  Defense could not even flip the field when the Pats started on the one.    The inability to get off the field, and the offense running for 49 yards (other than Allen) were the primary problems yesterday.   People seem to think if Josh Allen does not win the game singled handedly he, failed. Yesterday Allen had a 103 QB rating and no turnovers.  He did his part.

17 won’t do it.     24-27 would

Its a team game.  The defense stunk and let NE keep the ball on for a full quarter more than the Bills.  Have the ball for more than 21 minutes of an entire game and maybe you score more.

That said, Allen has to hit Knox on two potential touchdowns.  The coaches tried to hide Josh in the first half rather than allowing him to get going.   This one is on the entire team, but the defense was pretty terrible.

C’mon Gunner, this is a bit simplistic. In reality it’s a bit of both. The offense put 3 points on the bored then the defense collapsed on NE 2nd drive. Allowed a nearly 8 min drive, putting themselves in a lot of 3rd and short situations. Making for easy conversions.

The defense after 3 New England drives, including a turnover, had been on the field for 18 mins! You don’t think that’s a little bit of their own fault? They allowed a 17 play drive, that started inside the 1, that almost turned into 7 but fortunately they held them to 3. They could not get off the field on 3rd down.

Only KC scored more than the Bills against the Pats in their house.  Yeah, would've been nice to get that last one...
