The Defence thread.

I didn't see a thread about the D.

No 3 defence in the league.

I remember the recks defence when we had them on 3rd down and would routinely give up a play and not be able to get their offence off the field.

Our inconsistent offence is being protected largely be this D holding the opposition to low points, 10 yesterday.

They deserve props. Go Bills

I’ll get in this early. I’ve been a consistent critic of Edmunds. But, something’s happened and he appears to have figured it out! The biggest thing I can see is that he doesn’t appear to be over pursuing as he was in earlier games. He’s letting the RB come to him instead of being caught up in the wash of the line. Super big props to him and the coaching staff!

His game has elevated exponentially. He is who Beane and McD knew he would be making him yet another example of how we as fans need to slow our judging and let these players develop.

He’s only 21!!!!

Raise your hand if you thought season was over when Tre went down.

scared the Sh#t out of me, BUT, we are better than 1 player. I have faith that McD / Leslie can scheme up an answer. But boy is it nice to have the best corner in football lockin down a guy all game.

"Broken collar bone, he's done, #&$%" is what I said to my wife.

The defense is definitely good because all 11 do their jobs, but he's probably the best player. Losing him or Edmunds would be big blows.

The defense is so much fun to watch.

They finally sniffed out a screen!

It's just reps.  Dude is 21 years old.  I don't remember another NFL player who is in his second year at that age.  Pretty much everyone would be a senior in college.  Kid could be very special.

After 14 games, here's how the defense stacks up in the 9 defensive metrics I deem important:

Points per game: 2nd

Yards per game: 3rd

Rushing yards per attempt: 17th

Passer rating: 2nd

Sacks: 7th

Interceptions: 8th

3rd Down Percentage: 6th

4th Down Percentage: 6th

Red Zone Percentage: 19th

We can safely call these guys elite now. I believe the mediocre stats for rush defense and red zone defense had more to do with issues of schematics earlier in the season than with current personnel deficiencies. One thing they still need to work on, however, is opening drive 3rd quarter defense...stay focused, boys!

I wonder what's going to happen during the off-season? Hughes, Murphy, and Star are already making big money. Oliver is on a 1st round rookie contract. Lawson and Jordan Phillips will be commanding significant pay raises. And then there are those tantalizing external options in free agency at DE....

If there are just two things that give this girl goosebumps, they are (in no specific order):

1. A romantic dinner with John from Riverside

2. Jadeveon Clowney in a Buffalo BIlls uniform
