I think teams have learned not to pay top dollar for RB's. What do you think he will get in FA. I'm thinking a 4 year deal for like $27M  with $13M G.  Something real similar to John Browns deal. And I would do that in a second.  U think I'm way off? What you think his contract looks like?

I think he’ll be paid just above Le’Veon bell actually. And I’d still sign him as long as it don’t kill the cap in 2-3 years if you want him gone. He’s special. I can’t even really find another back in the league to compare with. The only recent 2 I can think would be marshawn and AP in his young days. Just too much power and some speed behind it. Free agency is a feeding frenzy and basing off the last couple years teams will just pay waaaaay more to make sure they get their guy. So there’s zero chance to probably get him at a bargain.

I really dont see the hype around Henry like it was around Bell. I would bet right now he gets less than Bell

Cause he plays for tennessee probably. I live in Tennessee so I’m stuck with following them. Henry is the best power back in the league. But he’ll break the big one for being a big guy you’d never expect him to be that fast. He doesn’t catch like bell though. It’s a year later is the only reason I think the price will be about the same.

It’s so clear to me what we really need to take the next step...offensive weapons. I love John Brown, but he’s more of a WR2. Beasley is our slot guy, that can’t be argued. We need a tall WR that can go get it in the end zone at the end of games. IMO that’s what we need to target above all else this draft.

In addition, we could really use a RT. I think Ford will finally be moved inside next year, but we need a true RT. We could look at FA, or in the draft. Either way it’s a huge need.

We also need a second RB. Motor has been really good, but we need some reliability when he needs to catch his breath. I’m thinking maybe the fourth or fifth to find this guy.

I say all this to plead and beg Beane to upgrade the offense this off-season. Please resist the urge to draft defense in round one and get a real playmaker for this offense. It’s what we need to round out this offense and make us a more complete football team. I get the potential need for pass rusher, but we can’t use all our premium picks on defense each year and expect to keep up with opposing offenses.

They will, it’s a very strong WR draft.

He’s a 2. And a darn good one at that. But let’s not try to pretend he’s a legit one.

Nobody's pretending. You're just missing the reality.

A guy who is 18th in the league in yards and 25th in catches on a team that throws only 54.29% of the time (26th in the league) is not a #2. He's a #1.

No, he's not what they call "a true #1," which generally means one of the top 6 or 7 guys in the league. But a completely "legit" #1? There isn't the slightest question of it.

Would it help to bring in more competition at WR? Yeah, sure. I'd expect it, but there's no particular reason to force yourself to use your first-rounder, especially in a year where WR talent goes deep.

They'll do what they do, what has worked so very well so far. They'll get the best guy available at a position of need. That's the intelligent way to go. It's the way they've said they want to operate, and it's the way they actually have operated. If the BPA is a receiver in the first, they'd probably be thrilled and grab him. If the BPA is otherwise, expect them to pick him anyway.
